Project Pan Them All | February Empties
I bought Lush Magic Mushroom last February during my trip to Toronto and I am glad I finally remembered to use it just in time for Valentine's Day! It is insanely cute, smells of creamy vanilla strawberry, makes mountains of bubbles, and it leaves my skin sooooo soft and smooth. Its is just perfect and I would definitely recommend it!
I was disappointed by Lush MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment since it did not really do anything in the water - it did not fizz, it did not make bubble, it barely smell anything and it did not really left my skin moisturized. Next please!
Marcelle Essentials Purity Soothing Cleansing Water is my HG makeup remover since it just melts everything away effortlessly, and I am always sad when I use up a bottle but it's OK since one lasts me about a year, and I must have two backups somewhere in my stash anyway.
John Frieda Precision Foam Color Conditioner was nothing special and it did not really protect my color or anything, but it did leave my hair soft.
I had two unique application samples of La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Intense Soothing Care* laying around so I figured out I might just use them up and I actually quite liked my experience. It does soothe my itchy eczema-prone skin quickly and it keeps it moisturized all day.
I was extremely disappointed by AHAVA Deadsea Water Mineral Body Lotion since it simply burned my skin where I have patched of eczema, which is really weird for a supposedly gentle lotion that costs $24!
I had a 30mL sample of NIVEA Smooth Replenishing Lotion which worked OK, but nothing special. I am no especially keen on NIVEA products for some reasons - I find them a bit pricey for what they are.
I received a sample of LUSH No Drought Dry Shampoo with some purchases but I don't think I can review it properly since I had not enough product to really test it. I just felt like I needed a lot of product for it to properly absorb the oil in my hair, but at least it did not leave a white cast.
I really enjoyed Burt's Bees Cranberry & Pomegranate Sugar Scrub which smells delicious enough to eat, since it is really abrasive just like I like my body scrubs to be, but on the other hand, it is a bit of a mess to use since it is so oily that most of it will fall in the shower and go down the drain. I liked how it seemed to coat my skin with an oily residue, so that it felt moisturized when I stepped out of the shower.
I am not sure why so many bloggers seem to be absolutely in love with Simple products since I only have had bad experiences so far - I especially hated Simple Eye Make-Up Remover since it claims to be "kind to eyes" but it stings so much and it barely removes anything!
I am not 100% sold on LUSH Bonbon Lip Scrub (I think it was a limited-edition from two or three Christmas ago) since I feel like I need tons of product to properly exfoliate my lips, and even then, I often have to do it at night and in the morning to ensure that my lips are smooth all day, which is annoying! I would rather make my own lip scrub with brown sugar and coconut oil that works just as well than pay $10 for something that is basically made with sugar and oil!
I think Get Creamed Coconut Cream Pie 100% Natural Whipped Body Cream is my absolute favorite body butter - I instantly fell in love with its extremely rich and silky texture, and I was amazed at how quickly it eased the itchiness caused by eczema. This body butter truly provides all-day soothing moisturization without greasy residue, with an absolutely delicious all-natural beachy coconut scent that does last a while on the skin.
I was really disappointed by Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer in Medium since it was my first experience with a Stila product and it barely moisturized my dry skin but it did cling to dry bits, and it turned me orange. No thanks.
I had a small sample of Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask that I decided to use it one time as a treatment on my dry hair, and while it did smell really nice, I can't say it really improved the condition of my hair in only one use.

Halloween FOTD | I got to know if you're the one that got away, even though it was never meant to be
To celebrate Halloween, I had the opportunity to take part in a super fun project in collaboration with Ladbrokes (play games here!) and Illamasqua. I was sent a very lovely surprise selection of gorgeous Illamasqua makeup to use to create the ultimate Halloween look in association with the launch of their Halloween slot games. These are actually my first ever Illamasqua products, so I guess you can imagine how excited I was to play with them! After browsing Pinterest and weheartit for inspiration, I finally decided which makeup look I would attempt to recreate...
Benefit The POREfessional | Covergirl CG Smoothers All Day Hydrating Make-Up - 710 Classic Ivory* | Stila Love at First Blush Palette
I chose to do a ventriloquist dummy makeup look! These doll seriously creep me out, but I thought it would be fun to recreate one. This look was done really quickly, in less than half an hour after the morning after a sleepless night - not a night of partying - guess who worked the night shift? I went for bold creepy eyebrows, crazy big doll eyes, drawn on bottom lashes and cute little heart-shaped red lips.
Illamasqua Empower Palette ('Synth' all over eye area, 'Slick' undereye crease) | NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Milk | Annabelle Mono Eyeshadow - Ebony| MAC Eye pencil - Ebony* | Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara
Illamasqua Lipstick - Magnetism
I am in absolutely no way a makeup artist, but this is actually the first "artistic" makeup look I have created and I think I am pretty proud of it! Of course, some things could have been improved, such as the eyes - especially the drawn on lashes, which could have been more defined - and the shading of the apples and the mouth, but hey, I think it's great for a first quick look!
Hopefully your Halloween party was more fun than mine - what were you dressed up as?
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Pop The Champagne: It's The eBeauty.ca Birthday Bash!
I know I'm late on this, but still, there is time time to enter so I thought I would share with you what is happening at eBeauty.ca to celebrate their birthday. From March 26 to March 30, shoppers can enter to win one of three $500 shopping sprees from eBeauty.ca as well as over $2,500 in secondary prizes. Yes, you heard right - one purchase = one entry, making it easy to celebrate, shop, WIN!
Also be sure to check out their birthday specials where you can score 15 to 40% off some of eBeauty.ca's best-loved brands such as BeautyBlender, Jurlique, dr. brandt, cake, GlamGlow and more!
My favorite part of the celebrations is eBeauty.ca's Birthday Bag - for only $15, shoppers can purchase a limited edition Birthday Bag valued at over $105 full of product from brands such as CARGO, Perricone MD, Stila, Ojon, Consonant and more!
In was extremely lucky to be able to get my hands on one of these lovely bag. I received the polka dots version but if you prefer stripes (which is just as cute!), go for it! It was actually surprised at the quality of this little bag. It looks small but when you open it, the little tissues at the end allows you to stretch it as much as you want. You get an extra pocket inside and I like how nicely padded the inside is, that way you don't have to worry that your precious products might get smashed together. The cute zipper is made of sturdy metal.
Now, let's have a peek inside...
Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Shampoo* and Conditioner with Ojon Oil (30ml)* are designed for very dry, damaged hair and claim to be the ultimate do-over for damaged hair. I consider my hair dry and damaged because I dye it every month, even if the damage does not really show (at least, I hope so!) as I like to look after it. I keep hearing tons of great things about Ojon so I can't wait to give these shampoo and conditioner a try!
I guess you can never have too many eye creams, right? The first time I tried Consonant Ultra Firming Organic Eye Cream (15ml), I can't say I was really happy with it because it was incredibly watery and runny, and I felt like it did not want to be absorbed into the skin, which is very annoying. I will continue using though and we will see how it goes.
I won't be using Perricone MD Firming Neck Therapy (7.5ml) because, well, I'm 23 and I don't think my neck needs firming yet, so I will give it to my mother instead. The texture is nice though, it's a light whipped cream that is absorbed super quickly in the skin.
The most interesting item in this bag to me is CARGO Lash Activator in Brown (full size), which is really a mascara that boosts the appearance of lashes after 30 days. I have never used something like this before and having to deal with incredibly, short and invisible lashes, I can't wait to try it!
I don't think I have tried a tinted moisturizer before so I'm eager to try this Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer in Medium (5ml), which claims to be oil-free and water-resistant. I have only tried it on my hand so far and even though the product looks a bit dark for my skintone straight from the tube, I have found that it blends surprisingly nicely with my skin color. This tinted moisturizer contains light-diffusing pigments which helps the even out skintone and makes skin looks dewy and radiant. The texture is also smooth and it leaves my skin soft.
Vasanti Tinted Lipbalm in Bahamas (full size) is my first Vasanti product and I'm glad to finally be able to try something from this brand as I keep hearing great things about it. I think the packaging looks very classy for a lipbalm - in fact, I thought it was a lipstick, but because Bahamas appears to be a dark plum in the tube, I'm glad it goes on sheer on the lips. I love how silky and buttery it glides on the lips, while leaving them a bit glossy.
I have never heard of mèreadesso (what a strange name!) before and I can't say I was extremely excited about the samples I received because, once again, I will have to give the Face + Neck Toning Gel (7ml) to my mother because it will be useless to me, and the Beautiful Body Balm (30ml) is nothing special - although it smells deliciously similar to KORRES Basil Lemon Moisturizing Body Butter - but I can't say it left my skin softer or smoother. Although, the hard plastic bottle is pretty hard to squeeze.
I have been wanting to try Tan Towel since forever but because I never seem to have had a really good experience with any self-tanner before, I was hesitant, so when I discovered that a Classic Self-Tan Towelette Half Body Application For Face & Body was included in the Birthday Bag, I was very happy! I must say I'm a little scared to try this because I'm afraid it will goes on streaky, but it claims to deliver a quick and even application with no streaking, mess or fuss, and to produce a uniform, natural looking glow within 2 to 4 hours.
I can't say I was excited to see that what appeared to be a cheap gold glitter nail polish in a clear base was included in the bag, but after doing some research, I discovered that Nail Tek Hydration Therapy Color (I received the shade Twinkle Twinkle) combines pure water and Pentavitin, a unique water magnet molecular that banks moisture within the surface of the natural nail to establish and maintain the natural moisture balance of the nail nail bed, and cuticles. How genius does it sound?
eBeauty.ca’s Birthday Bash is still going on through Friday and the Beauty Bags, sold for $15 and valued at $105, will be available while quantities last.

Shopping: Apothica.com, Avon, San Francisco, LUSH & Jean Coutu
My order from Apothica.com I'm sad to say that I'm disappointed with their shipping this time. I placed my order on November 28, it was shipped on November 30 and I received it on December 6 - the thing is that I opted for the USPS Express Mail International, which means I was supposed to get my order within 3 days, not to mention I was provided with a tracking number that didn't even exist... well, don't waste your money on that. I'm not really complaining because I didn't pay for it (I had gift cards) but still, I wanted to warn you. At least I got my whole order safe and sound!
100% Pure Caffeine Eye Cream $18.80 There's been lots of buzz in the blogosphere about this product and having tried a few 100% Pure products in the past, I decided that I had to get my hands on this one as well. I'm 23 so I'm not really dealing with fine lines and wrinkles yet but I got into the habit of using an eye cream since I'm 16 as a prevention and I actually like it, it makes me feel pampered (:
Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser with Orange Oil $9.00 I looooooove this cleanser, it totally saved my skin last winter (or was it the winter before?)! You know I have super dry skin that is prone to eczema so I have to be careful not to use anything too harsh, especially in the awful winter weather. This cleanser is oily so it won't strip your skin of its moisture but leave it even more hydrated and smoothed! The only thing is that it does leave a little oily residue after but personally, I don't mind this because I like to think of it as a protective layer.
Stila Perfect & Correct Foundation in Tone $44.00 I never really used a foundation on a daily basis and I decided it was time I tried one for real! I have a few foundations in my stash but I never used them regularly but I decided that things were going to be different with this one. My skin is far from perfect but I don't think I need to totally cover it so I was looking for a light coverage and after browsing Makeupalley, I decided that I would give this one a try. I chose it in the shade Tone which appeared a bit dark on the website but I figured out I could make it work by matching it with another foundation.
theBalm Time Balm Concealer in Light $17.80 I don't have concealers that I really like in my stash and I've heard great things about this one so I ordered it in Light. I'm not sure I want to use it as an overnight treatment though, it seems a bit strange to apply makeup at night!
Voluspa Limited Edition Winesap Apple Spice and Truffle White Coca Handmade Candles $15.00 each I really wanted to get rid of the gift cards I had left so even though I think it's crazy to pay that ridiculous amount of money for such little candles (5oz), I ordered them because they seemed to smell sooooo yummy and I was right! I haven't lit them though so I won't get too excited but scented candles can be disappointing):
As always, I also received some free samples with my order that I will probably not use and give to my mother: Phytomer Oligopur Purifying Cleansing Gel, AHAVA Time To Revitalize Extreme Day Cream and NUXE Crème Prodigieuse Enrichie Anti-Fatigue Moisturizing Cream.
Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Pout and Sheer Naturale on sale 2 for $7.00 According to Temptalia's dupe list, Pout is a dupe for MAC Angel at 100% so of course, Angel being among my absolute favorite lipsticks (very original, isn't it?), I had to get my hands on it! Mélanie's mother is an Avon reprensentative so I ordered Pour from her and I wanted to take advantage of the special so I asked Mélanie for her advice and she recommended Sheer Naturale, which is a nude with a glossy finish.
After reading the comments on Makeupalley about these lipsticks, I had high hopes as some even said Pout was HG material, but I find these lipsticks to be incredibly drying and their lasting power is awful on me - they won't even stay on for one hour! I've read some comments about the poor lasting power of the Ultra Color Rich Lipsticks but that's not what bothers me the most as you don't need a mirror to re-apply these but from what I've seen on the net, these lipsticks are supposed to be moisturizing! That's a shame because I love both shades ):
San Francisco blouse on sale for $19.99 Ever since I first step foot in San Francisco, I spotted this blouse and I knew I had to have it, but it was something like $29.99 and because it's so light, I wasn't sure it was worth it. This blouse being in the fall collection, I knew it was going to be on sale soon... and I was right! I was soooooo lucky to get my hands on the only X-Small available! When I first put it on, I was unsure about it but when I roll up the sleeves and cinch a belt at the waist, it's actually great!
San Francisco tunic on sale for $19.99 I'm always on the hunt for more tops I can wear with leggings in the winter because they are the comfiest thing ever! At first sight, I wasn't sure about this one because I don't usually go for a warm piece of clothing with short-sleeves, but I just couldn't let it go at this price! When I tried it on another time once at home, I was a little disappointed to see that the cut isn't as flattering I thought it would be (it's not as close to the body as I usually like) but I still like it!
San Francisco cotton pants on sale for $19.99 No, I didn't need another pair of "lounging around pants" but I got tired of always wearing the same baggy pair and this one is soooo comfy and it fits so well... and it was on sale... and there was only one X-Small available... and it makes my butt looks so nice (:
LUSH The Rocketeer and Abombinaball Bath Bomb on sale BOGO and New! Shampoo Bar $10.95 The only sales I really wanted to chek out on the Boxing Day were the ones at LUSH, but I was disappointed. OK, maybe it's my fault, maybe I waited too long before going there but I was working the days after Christmas and the stores were all crowded and there's not a lot of things I hate more than crowded stores!
I went to LUSH yesterday actually and everything I wanted was gone but I grabbed those two bath bombs as a gift for my mother as Christmas items were BOGO, and I finally took the plundge and decided to try one of their shampoo bar. I must say the reasons that kept me from buying some was the price - but I've been told that one bar is equal to three bottles of shampoo - and also that I was afraid it would be hard to use and that it would not layther well but the sale assistant assured me that it lathers really well.
I was initally going for Jumping Juniper as it's designed for oily hair, but the sale assistant told me this shampoo did nothing for her oily roots but that New! was awesome for this, and that it was also great to stimulate hair growth. From the reviews I've read on the LUSH website, many people say this shampoo is drying but I really don't care as I use conditioner and leave-in conditioner everytime I wash my hair. I can't wait to try this!
Glade Sense & Spray Automatic Room Spray Lavender & Vanilla free I recently received a coupon for a free Glad Sense & Spray and the only scent available was this one (this wasn't totally free, I had to pay the taxes).

eBeauty.ca
eBeauty is Canada's new online shopping destination for everything beauty!
Owned and operated on home soil, eBeauty offers an extensive assortment of bath, body, and beauty products available to Canadian shoppers. With over 300 brands and new arrivals added daily, you'll be able to find all of your favourite products, all of your can't-live-without-must-haves, as well as discover a wide selection of new and exciting products available as soon as they hit the market.
eBeauty. Beauty for everyone.
I was recently approached by Katie from eBeauty.ca, Canada's new online destination for everything beauty. They carry more brands than Sephora (300+ brands, 7 500+ products - new additions daily!) and shipping is always free on order of $75 or more (they often have promos where they offer free shipping free shipping over orders of $25). I recently saw ads for this website in magazines and on the internet, and I thought it looked interesting.
Vivaderm Daily Cream ($17.95 for 200ml)
A luxurious daily cream that works to maintain soft, supple, healthy-looking skin.
Best for people with exceptionally dry skin, including those prone to developing patches of eczema and dermatitis.
Formulated with a special blend of three herbal extracts traditional used for skin care, this nourishing cream includes calendula, witch hazel, and butcher's broom. Together with rich emollients they help soothe the skin and keep it touchably soft, dramatically reducing flaking and itching.
I'm not going to lie: this is the product I was the most excited to try. I have came across only a minority of great moisturizers that could really relieve the itchiness on my skin caused by eczema, so I'm always on the hunt for some others, and I was not disappointed with this one!
For a cream, I think the texture is more on the light side (I was expecting it to be thicker) but it's not milky or runny. I usually tend to rely on thicker creams because I feel lighter ones are not moisturizing enough, but I was happily surprised with this one.
Vivaderm Daily Cream is almost instantly absorbed in my skin as soon as I apply it, calming the itching immediately and leaving it soothed and smooth - what a relief! It is also non greasy and lightweight, and the scent is natural and pleasant.
I think the price is very reasonable for 200ml, especially since I don't use this product all over my body, but only on the areas that are prone to eczema and dry patches.
As soon as my skin becomes dry and itchy, I reach for my trusty tube of Vivaderm Daily Cream - not to mention that the tube is very handy to carry around in my handbag.

100% Pure Body Cream ($19.00)
A luxurious body cream that hydrates and softens the skin while leaving it beautifully scented.
This powerful concentrated blend of vitamins, antioxidants, fruit oils, and cocoa and avocado butters work together to deeply nourish the skin while increasing elasticity and protecting the skin against free radicals and environmental damage. Deliciously scented, your skin will be left healthier-looking and glowing. Free of artificial fragrances, synthetic chemicals, toxic preservatives, or other unsafe ingredients, this body cream is safe for use on all skin types.
The first thing that struck me with this body cream was the scent. I was sent a variety of samples to try and my favorite by far was Green Apple - yum! They all smell amazing - and I'm not talking about that cheap chemical scent! I wish the scent would last longer on the skin but this body cream is still a pleasure to use regardless.
As for the texture, it's just what I was expecting for a body cream: deliciously rich, non greasy and fast absorbing.
Available scents (all vegan, except Honey Almond, which is vegetarian):
Maybe it's a little too soon to tell (I've been using this product for around two weeks) but I didn't notice any improvment regarding the clarifying, brightening and firming of the skin. Maybe I'm too young for this? But one thing I can tell for sure is that this gel is really moisturizing, and it leaves my skin sooooo soft and smooth! I couldn't stop touching my face after applying it!
As it's a gel, the texture is light, but I still think it's a little heavy for a gel - it takes some times for the product to be absorbed into the skin. It doesn't feel greasy though.
If you look closely at the pictures above, you will notice gold sparkles in the gel but don't worry, you won't end up looking like a disco ball after applying this product! In fact, the particles are barely noticeable, and they will give your face an healthy glow at the most.
Of course, the price is a little steep...

LaRocca Skincare 24k C-Gold Gel ($143 for 1oz)
A multi-tasking gel that smooths and protects your complexion.
This lightweight formula nourishes sun-damaged skin. It works to clarify, brighten, and firm skin with intense moisture while reducing the appearance of imperfections.

h.wood.beauty Lip Shine in Plum ($22.00 for 0.42oz / 12g)
A gorgeous, ultra-nourishing gloss that leaves lips with an alluring shine and sheer hue.
This moisturizing formula is infused with jojoba oil and cocoa butter to sooth and protect your pout with a hint of colour. Your lips are kept undeniably supple with mango butter, avocado oil, and shea butter while grapeseed oil delivers powerful antioxidants.
First of all, this product is called a lip shine, but it's actually more on the matte side, and it's far from glossy, as claimed. It doesn't feel moisturizing at all and the product seems to be quickly absorbed into the lips, so I have to keep reapplying it through the day.
As for the color, don't be fooled by the swatch on the website (when Plum is pictured as a deep red, almost brown). In fact, even the darkest color (which is this one) is sheer, except that it settles into the fine lines of the lips. Because of that, it tends to make my lips look even drier, which is a little strange of a product that is claimed to be moisturizing
I would absolutely not recommend this product, as it did absolutely nothing from my lips except maybe make them look even worst! For $22, it is extremely disappointing.
Available shades:
Available shades:
- Plum (sheer deep brick red)
- Poppy (shimmering golden pink)
- Rose (sheer, dusty pink)
- Ruby (sheer bright red)
- Sheer (transparent)
Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten ($27.00 for 0.9oz / 2.6g)
Stila's best-selling eye shadow pans, encased in a sleek aluminum compact.
There is something for everyone. Ten award-winning shades that include everything from classic neutrals to the hippest, trend-setting shades in both mattes and shimmers.
Kitten is a very pretty shimmery champagne shade, but I was disappointed at how sheer it is once applied. I bet it would make a great highlight shade though.
It glides really well on the lids, just like butter, with no fallout.
