Shopping: Shoppers Drug Mart, Uniprix & Dollarama

I don't post "hauls" very often because the truth is that I try not to go shopping too often because 1. I hate shopping, 2. I try not to waste my money on things I don't really need and 3.I try to use up the products I already have at home. The problem is that one of my little pleasure is to look at the store flyers we receive at home every Wednesday or Thursday, and of course, something always caught my eyes, which happened again last week...

Revlon Lip Butter in Cupcake on sale $3.99 Shoppers Drug Mart always has these special deals every weekends that last only for Saturday and Sunday and of course, I could not resist to go swatch the highly raved about Revlon Lip Butters at my local Shoppers right after the job.

I have been a good girl though and I left with only one - after much hesitation between Cupcake, Cotton Candy and Strawberry Shortcake - I finally opted for Cupcake, which is a very pretty pale pink with blue undertones. These Lip Butters are usually  around $9, which I personally think is completely insane for such a little quantity of product that barely lasts 2 hours on the lips... but yes, Cupcake is extremely buttery, pigmented and it doesn't dry out my lips.

L - R: swatched lightly (one swipe) and swatched heavily (direct sunlight)

I'm not showing you more picture because I plan to write a post about this product very soon.

Carmex Cherry Flavoured Lip Ointment on sale $1.99 I recently purchased the Original Carmex Jar purely because of the hype and I guess it works OK but nothing miraculous as it's still not able to completely heal my extremely dry lips, but after wondering on Twitter what was the difference in formula between the jar and the squeezable tube versions, I have been told that the Carmex in the tube is creamier and thicker, and I have to agree. No, I absolutely did not need yet another lipbalm in my collection, but I figured out that because it has SPF in it, it will come in handy this summer.

Nivea Visage Natural Beauty Beautifying Eye Care $2 I love Dollarama because you can find great products from known brands at a really nice price, and I was going there with my mother for food but of course, I couldn't help myself from sneaking up in the beauty section to have a quick look, and I was surprised to find Nivea there!

For some reasons, I always had in mind that Nivea tested on animals, but after much research, I'm happy to report that I was wrong, fortunately! I don't think I have really tried something from Nivea before and I don't really know why, maybe because none of their products really appealled to me and because they tend to be a bit on the pricey side for drugstore products. Yes, I already have a ton of eye creams in my stash, but do you know how pricey eye creams can be? I personally like to apply a more thick and moisturizing eye cream at night an another one to brighten my undereye area during the day, and I think this one from Nivea is great for this as it's a bit pearlescent.

Elegant Effects Permanent Hair Colour Cream in 002 Dark Brown

Is COLOUR right for me?
Colour is perfect for you if you want:
- Beautiful, natural colour that stays true until the next time you colour.
- Perfect gray coverage even on the most resistant greys.
- Conditioning for smooth and shiny hair.
- Colour that is easy to apply and takes only 30 minutes

Hair Colour rich radiant and beautiful
- Perfect gray coverage, a rich deep and even color.
- Permanent hair colour, will not wash out until new hair grows out.
- Achieve your favorite hair colour after only 30 minutes.

Dying my hair with a box of hair color from the dollar store? Check! Yes, I got this for only $2 at my local dollar store called Dollarama. It's not the first time I walked pass by these Elegant Effects boxes of hair dye but as much as I love Dollarama, I kept thinking that they were... well... dollar store hair colours! I even searched the net for info on this brand because all I could find on the box was "Dollarama, made in China" - no company info or anything! - but I found absolutely nothing on internet either.

I'm not the kind of girl to snob the cheaper stuff and honestly, I don't even know why I didn't try these sooner. I'm not scared to play with my hair and well, I guess the worst thing that could happen is that the color wouldn't be the one I expected, but it's not the end of the world!

I can't remember all of the shades available but I know they had light brown, black and some kind of red, but I picked up dark brown even though I wasn't fond of the model's hair color on the box - it just didn't appear dark brown to me - but I know the results you get are rarely the ones advertised on the box anyway.

In the box, you get the same items as in your usual box of hair dye, but instead of a tube of conditioner that you can re-use a couple of times, you get a sachet that you have to use all at once.

I haven't tried a lot of color creme hair dye in the past - I'm not even sure I used one? - but I must say I was very surprised by the nice texture of this one as it doesn't drip everywhere and it's very easy to apply. I didn't have any product left in the bottle when I was done applying it on my hair which has never happened to me before - I barely had enough dye to cover my whole hair and it's only slightly pass shoulder length, which made me think that the bottle was smaller than "regular" hair dye, and it is. The bottle from Elegant Effects is 1.4 FL OZ while the bottle from the last hair dye I've tried before that, Clairol Natural Instincts Vibrant, was 1.86 FL OZ. It doesn't really matter to me because I mostly concentrate dye at the roots as there is no need to re-dye my hair dark brown unless the color has faded - which normally doesn't happen to me, or if so, only slightly - but if you are, for example, blonde or light brown and you want to go dark brown, definitely get two boxes of this stuff!

It is recommended to wash the dye after 30 to 45 minutes which seems pretty long to me but I guess it's worth it, and 45 minutes is not that long when you have to catch up on blogs or play Zelda =P The dye was also very easy to wash in the shower and again, I was surprised to see that the water only slightly turned brown and that the dye didn't stain the shower walls or floor.

The conditioner isn't the nicest I've used, but at this price, I wasn't expecting much and I don't really care about the conditioners that come with a box of hair dye anyway - I usually just use it when I wash the dye out and then I just give it away to my mother. Because it's called a "Luxurious conditioner", I guess I was expecting it to be thicker but it's very runny and it drips everywhere.

Before and after

Can I just say - wow! I seriously didn't expect this hair dye to properly cover my roots and to be that dark! I do think it's strange that my roots look slightly red and paler than the rest of my hair when they catch the light, but otherwise, I'm really pleased with the results! My hair was left very shiny and smooth! I will be sure to stock up on this hair dye and maybe I will even try the black shade?

Shopping: Wal-Mart, Dollarama & a warehouse sale

NYC Translucent Loose Face Powder $1.50 & Green Cover Stick $1.25 As soon as I spotted these in a "sale bin", I had to grab them! I don't have a translucent loose face powder and as I'm not a big fan of foundation, I thought I should give it a try. Also, I have never used a green cover stick and it got me really curious, and the price was perfect to experiment with it. I don't know if they were on sale because they are going to be discontinued? I've heard the face powder has a new packaging now...

Göt2b rockin' it encore fresh Dry Shampoo This was a gift from my boyfriend, even though he absolutely don't seem to get the point of dry shampoos. In the store, he was like "But I always see you washing your hair in the shower, you never use that! What's the point?" Ah, boys, boys, boys...  Anyway, I rushed to Wal-Mart as soon as I saw this dry shampoo and the Powder'ful Volumizing Styling Powder in the flyer, but of course, it wasn't there. I didn't even see an empty space where the product should be )=

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in White On I decided I needed a white nail polish after seeing this one on a blog (can't remember which one). This was marked as $1.97 but it scanned at $2.94 so I got it for free, yey!

Mainstays 5-piece Jar Candle Set in Pear $7.50 and Fern Apricot Tea Votices $2.80 You know I can't resist scented candles, especially when they are on sale! They both smell yummy, but I don't think I have ever smelled something similar to Apricot Tea. Yum!

Jenere Peppermint 99.9% Natural Lip Balm $1.00 and Lavoris Mouthwash Whitening Rinse $1.00 I love to browse the beauty alley in Dollarama as I always find amazing deals! I know I have plenty of lip balms already but I use them so much so I like to stock up when I find a great deal, and how could I say no to almost all natural lipbalms for only $1? I've also been a little obsessed with whitening mouthwash lately and while I'm sceptical this one is actually good, I figured out that for $1, I wouldn't complain.

Lendan Look Forms Solution-11 Rinse-Free Styling Mask with UV Protection 2 for $5.00 There was a warehouse sale near where I live this week-end and it was filled with professional hair products, so my mother and went went to have a nosey. Most of the products were overpriced for my student budget and I didn't really need something anyway, but when my mother spotted this leave-in conditioner (which was on sale for $3.50 or 2 for $5.00) we decided to grab one each. I swear by leave-in conditioners, and I hope this one will lives to its claims.
Lendan offers solutions for hair conditioning and easier styling with products that act progressively to achieve shiny, silky, healthier hair. Solution-11 combines the renewing effect of treatment with eleven natural extracts, including avocado oil and quaternised honey. It also helps achieve free moving, lively hair with great body, thanks to the Provitamin B-5 it contains, Do Not Rinse Solution-11's sun filter protects and screens hair from ultraviolet rays.

Shopping: Wal-Mart, St-Eustache flea market, Dollarama & Zellers

Wal-Mart

Sara needed some heels so we dropped by Wal-Mart, and that's when I spotted the new Miley Cyrus & Max Azria clothing line. I'm absolutely amazed by what they have to offer! Nothing is priced more than $20, and I loved everything! However, I controlled myself and bought only one thing - that I really needed - from this line:

Miley Cyrus & Max Azria jeggings - $20 I've always wanted jeggings since I fell in love with leggings, and I never knew I would find some at Wal-Mart! I bought them in small because my ass is too big to fit in x-small LOL. But seriously, I love them, they fit so well and the color is beautiful =D

And then, I noticed another new clothing line: g21 by George. George never really appealed to me since it seems to have been designed for older women, but g21 is a different story:
Inspired by the latest trends, g21 offers a wide range of today's looks. With trendy and stylish pieces, you can mix and match anything you'd like to create your own style. g21 is also available in plus sizes for young women.
A picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at what I got:

g21 by George pink and grey striped pull - $12 That pull fits perfectly and it's not too warm. I love it so much that I also picked another in black (=

g21 by George "Anita" boots - $20 Such cute boots for only $20? Are you kidding me? I love them, even if my boyfriend say they are ugly leprechaun boots LOL. I'm pretty sure they will look better with jeans anyway eheh!

g21 by George "Great" flats - $10 It was love at first sight. I love animal prints, and I needed new flats. And for only $10... (=

göt2b fat-tastic Instant Collagen Infusion Root-Boosting Spray - around $4 I tried it in the store on Sara's hair, and it worked! She has the finest hair, and she said she could "feel" the product working on her hair, so I immediatly bought it LOL.

St-Eustache flea market

Then we headed for St-Eustache flea market because I wanted the same handbag that my friend Gab had, and I found it:

Kay Jones handbag - $25 I actually bought the black one and swapped it with Gab because she liked the black one better (this red one is her "old" bag). I wanted it so bad because I like the details, and it's so big that I will be able to fit all of my school supplies in it. Yey!

Dollarama

I can't tell you how much I love to browse my local Dollarama (I actually have three local Dollarama, so I'm pretty lucky). There's always a variety of interesting things, and nothing is priced over $2. Here's what I picked up Saturday:

Mario Candy Container - $2 and Super Mario Bomb-omb Candy Dispenser - $1 Those were for my boyfriend as he loves candies. I'm the one who ended up eating the Bomb-omb, and the Mario Candy Container isn't pictured as I left it at my boyfriend's house.

Soles Gels - $1 Soles gels for only $1? I needed some, and I think I will return and pick up some more.

Smooth Skin Natural Hair Removal Hair Exfoliator Body And Face - $2 I've been pretty curious about this hair removal method ever since I've seen Smooth Away or My Smooth Legs Natural Hair Removal ads on TV.  I have tried it and it works very, very well! The best part? It's only $2 (instead of $15 - $20)!

Stainless steel Eye brow & Bikini line razor - $1 I've seen videos on YouTube of bloggers using those razors on their brows and I thought the results were amazing, so I decided to give it a go, too.

Bella Spa by Ivy Castle Luxury Body Butter Coca Butter - $1.25 and Fruits Scents Strawberry Body Butter - $1.50 Who could resist body butters at a price so low? =P

Memory Foam Insoles - $1.50 and Thermo Confort Thermal Insoles - $1 I always end up with swollen feet having a day in flats, so hopefully those foam insoles will help. Those will be quite handy in the winter.

Durable Bottle - $2 I needed a reusable bottle of water for uni, and this one seems perfect. I'm quite picky about this because I don't want it to be too bad because I carry it around all day, and I wanted the cap to be solid so it wouldn't unscrew by itself in my bag. For only $2, I doubt it's really durable... but we'll see!

Zellers

5 bras for $7.50! Can you believe it? Zellers was having a sale and all of those were $1.50!

SentimentS Perfect Cleavage - $16.97 This bra claims to appear up to 2 sizes larger and to be the ultimate cleavage enhancer. For only $16.97, I decided to go and try it on, and OMG, it is really magical! It really adds some mjor "oomphs" to the cleavage. Of course, it has lots of padding, but I guess it takes what it takes!

I have been searching for so long for the perfect push-up bra, and this one seems to be the one! I'm thinking about going back to Zellers and buy each of the color available (=

Shopping: Giant Tiger, Wal-Mart and Dollarama

I went to Giant Tiger and Wal-Mart before going on vacations and I've found some interesting things.

Giant Tiger:

I lost my invoice, but if I remember well, most of the articles were $12.97 and $14.97.

Just One Three-quarter sleeves grey cardigan: I've been wanting one forever! I like that's it's grey; it just goes with everything (=

Blue Crush Long sleeves baby blue cardigan: I love the design in the back!

Bizz Girl Belted black and white striped top: I was looking for some long tops that would go well with my leggings, and this one is perfect (=
Sorry for the crappy quality, I couldn't get a nice picture -_-

Bizz Girl Belted black and navy blue striped top: I love the studded belt!

Wal-Mart:

725 Originals Yellow bikini - $5 each piece : I've been wanting a yellow bikini for some times now, and at this price, I couldn't resist! It's a very basic bikini though, so there's not a lot of padding or support.

Dollarama:

I like to wander in the beauty aisle of my local Dollarama, as I always find some interesting things at such a bargaineous price.

Super Mario Gummies and crunchy candies - $1.25 : I have a fascination for everything from Nintendo, and I often find some of those things at the dollar store. Most of the candies are not good, but I buy them for the figurine. Those were for my boyfriend (=

Epsom Salts Bath Crystals - $1 : I was looking for something more abrasive than sugar or salt to mix with olive oil to make my own body scrub, and I think this would be perfect.

Alberto VO5 Deep Nourishing Moisture Intensive Mask 3 Minute Mask - $2 : This was on the lowest shelf, so if I hadn't look down, I wouldn't have seen it! I haven't heard about this product before, but it's labelled "NEW". I needed a good hair mask for my fried ends, so I can't wait to try it!
