OOTD | Venus Goddess Of Love Costume

Hi ladies! Are you excited for Halloween? I sure am, even though I don't really have nothing planned as of now, but last minute parties are the best, aren't they? This year, I wanted to wear something different than my usual more-or-less-sexy costumes, so when I was given the opportunity to choose an outfit from FrightCatalog.com, I made sure to choose carefully!

I always wanted an antique costume, so I finally made my mind and decided on Venus Goddess of Love Costume, and I must say, I am quite impressed at its quality! Having worked at a Halloween store a few years ago, I sure do know most costumes are very different than what is advertised on the packaging, and some brands are worst than others - I sure was not expecting such a nice surprised from California Costumes!

The super silky dress is designed as a mini white toga with a purple drape wrapping around it. The plunging v-neck can look a bit intimidating at first but the cups are adjustable for the desired degree of coverage. The decorative band running under the bust line is very flattering and I like the strip of shiny gold that serve as a trim on the enclosed sheer white shoulder drape.

Venus Goddess of Love Costume is available for $34.99 in sizes Small to X-Large.

Tag | I ♥ Fall

I have been tagged by the lovely Angela at The Beauty Belle to do this super cute and fun fall tag! Now I have never been a fan of the colder weather because well, it's cold! I prefer summer, the sun, the beach... but yes, fall is beautiful, and I do love to wear cozy clothes and relax wrapped in a hot blanket with a cup of tea, not to mention that the good thing is that there is no snow - yet!
1. Favourite Fall Lip Product?

If you have been reading my blog for some times, you should know by now that I don't abide by any rules when it comes to makeup and the seasons - I wear what I like, when I like it, and even if it's Fall, I'm not particularly keen on dark and vampy lipsticks. Would I be boring if I said that my favorite fall lip product is lip balm? I can't get enough of NUXE Rêve de Miel and Carmex!

2. Favourite Fall Nail Polish?

As stated previously, I am as likely to wear bright shades as much as dark ones, because hey, what is better than painting your toenails yellow to cheer you up on a dull, cold and snowy or rainy winter day?
3. Favourite Fall Drink?

The original question was 'Favourite Starbucks Fall Drink' but since I have stepped foot only once in a Starbucks - and I don't even remember what I ordered, but it was certainly none of their 'fancy' drinks - I am just going to answer with my favorite fall drink, which is probably hot chocolate with marshmallows... or tea with marshmallows... or coffee... pretty much everything with marshmallows ahah!

4. Favourite Fall Candle?

Anything with peppermint or cinnamon and I also associate sweet fragrances with the colder months. I don't have a favorite candle but I do really enjoy Time & Again Crackling Wick Scented Candles in Sweet Peppermint which smells fresh yet not overly sweet, and it makes that comforting sound that if you close your eyes, you can easily imagine yourself sitting next to a fire - how genius is that?

5. Favourite Fall Scarf or Accessory?

This cropped faux-leather jacket that I got for only $20 at Ross during my trip to Wildwood -  I have a thing for motorcycle jackets, and it's even better if it's cropped and if it has zippers! I bought it in Small and even though it does run small and it's not very stretchy, I will be sure to make the most out of it while it's not too cold outside - I especially like to wear it with an oversized scarf.

6. Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride or Haunted Corn Maze?

I'm not exactly sure what is an 'haunted hay ride' and I don't think haunted corn mazes are that scary - at least, the ones I went to - but I'm way too easily scared to even enter an haunted house so I would say, neither of those!
7. Favourite Halloween Movie?

My favorite horror movie series has to be Saw - of course! - and horror movies are my favorite ones, especially the ones with ghosts or spirits because I am a firm believer in ghosts. I am not a big fan of those silly demons, zombies or supernatural creatures movies though.

8. Favourite Candy to Eat on Halloween?

I prefer chocolate over candy - Caramilk, Mars, Oreo - yum! - but I do enjoy my share of sour candies too!

9. What Are You Dressing Up As For Halloween?

I am still hesitant between being a sexy sailor or a referee - which one would you recommend?

10. What Is Your Favourite Thing About Fall?

Definitely the cozy clothes, warm blankets, hot chocolate and bonfires!

Halloween Costumes Ideas From EdenFantasys!

Halloween is one of my favorite time of the year and while I don't exactly look forward to this holiday for the candies - but more for the wild parties and original costumes - I do quite enjoy dressing up! Now, I'm not one to splurge hard earned money on a super pricey costume that I probably won't wear again the year after - last year, I dressed up as Pikachu and it did not even cost me one cent! - but I like to browse around for costumes to give me an idea of what I could create myself.

While I'm a fan of sexy costumes, I also want something a bit different and original from the usual cop outfit, and I spotted quite a few interesting ideas on EdenFantasys. OK, a firefighter is probably not the most original idea ever, but it's still better than a sexy cop outfit, isn't it? One of the most interesting costume I have spotted on this website is definitely the sexy lumberjack - just how cute is she with her denim/plaid dress, knit toque and leg warmers? I'm absolutely all over this retro stewardess outfit as well as the Time out temptress and the Role play racer, which features two outfits in one - lycra dress, padded lycra bra and matching booty shorts.

Who never dreamed of being a cougar - yes, I really mean the animal! - in another life? I loooove the cute ear headband! A sexy pirate in her fiery red peasant off the shoulder dress is always a winning choice, although not as original as this Speed Demon costume, featuring a checkerboard trimmed romper and triangle bikini top. I really like the waist corset on the Robyn da hood costume and how hot is this Remember the trojans costume?

Be sure to check out the wide variety of costumes at EdenFantasys and also, enter code TTF at checkout to save 15% on your entire order, no minimum amount!

Spooky. Sexy. Fun. Happy Halloween from EdenFantasys!

Special OOTD | In the navy, yes you can sail the seven seas

Ladies, you may remember my last "special OOTD" post? Well today, I have another fun "outfit" - OK, yes, it's a costume - to show you - yes, I'm aware that we are in the middle of June, but who said you can't have fun in the summer? In fact, Tuesday, my boyfriend and I headed to Auberge du Lac Taureau for a 2-nights stay after we found an interesting deal on Tuango - can you guess what I secretly packed to surprise him?

I don't know if you are like me, but at Halloween, I like to wear an original costume, that's why I tend to favorize DIY ones, like my Pikachu costume from last year. But the other day, I was browsing Costume Discounters's new costumes for 2012 and I was happily surprise to find this amazingly cute women's Nautical Doll costume - come on, how many sailors do you typically see on Halloween? None? That's what I thought!

The Adult Nautical Doll Costume comes with a full length super sexy and nicely fitting navy blue sailor dress with an attached collar. I was actually surprised at how velvety the dress felt! I also appreciate the details of the costume, which does not look cheap at all - the dress has white trimming around the skirt, the bust area is white with red trimming and leads into the shoulders straps, which are also white, and attached to the straps are black and white stripe flair. Down the bodice are big gold buttons and in the corner of the skirt is a gold anchor emblem. The costume also includes a cute sailor hat.

I ordered the Nautical Doll costume in Small and it fits amazingly well - I love the way it hugs my body in all the right places without being too tight. You can also see - and feel! - how the costume is made of high-quality material. Also, it's great that the costume is actually true to the picture on the website and on the packaging, which is not often the case usually!

The Nautical Doll costume is currently on sale for $24.94 at Costume Discounters and I think it would look super cute with some white lace stockings and a pair of simple black heels.

Special OOTD: Can you blow my whistle baby, whistle baby (Reno 911! Deputy Johnson costume)

Well this post is not an actual "outfit of the day" as it's a costume - yes, I was recently offered a partnership with a really fun online costume store and I thought, even though it's not Halloween, who doesn't like to dress up?

I'm super late with this review as this Reno 911! Deputy Johnson costume was actually sent to me back in April 2011 - at that time, I thought I would post about it around Halloween but I had some issues with the post and in the end, I totally forgot about it because I decided to dress up as Pikachu.

When I was offered to review a costume of my choice, I spent countless hours browsing Sexy Costume Discounters and I finally opted for what I thought was a classic sexy cop costume, but it's only when I received it that I realized that Reno 911! is actually a TV series that ran from 2003 to 2009.

Of course, having worked in a Halloween store last year, I know that costumes are rarely identical to what they look like in picture on a model, but some are worst than the others, and this Reno 911! Deputy Johnson costume was not that bad. It's comfortable to wear and the size Small fits me well - the belt is even too big! I guess the model on the picture wears an X-Small though because the costume looks super tight on her, and I do think it looks a bit too loose on me for my taste because hey, it's supposed to be a sexy costume after all!

I did not expect the costume to be so shiny and I don't understand the purpose of the black stripe of fabric in the front which just look weird - this was not pictured on the packaging, of course - but what I really dislike about this costume is the hat - it's not solid like it looks like on the picture, it's actually really cheap and it has no shape. I bet this could easily be fixed with some styrofoam though.

The Reno 911! Deputy Johnson costume includes the shirt, skirt, badge, belt and hat and can be easily accessorized with some aviator sunglasses and handcuffs.

Halloween FOTN + OOTN: & I don't ever ever want to grow up I want to keep it going, keep keep it going come on

Can you guess what was my Halloween costume this year?

Miss Mafia Véronique and me

Geneviève the bunny and me

That's right... I was Pikachu!

Of course, I was working before the party and when I came home (one hour later than what I was planning), I was in a rush and I didn't have the time to do anything over the top makeup-wise, hence why I don't have any proper picture to show you. I have cropped some semi-decent pictures though, and I hope you will be able to get the idea.

I didn't really have a sepcific idea in mind and I didn't find lots of inspiration on the net so I decided to do something simple but still a little more dramatic than my everyday makeup. I wanted something yellow but of course, I didn't have anything yellow in my stash! I rumaged through my mother's makeup and found the Annabelle Studio 4Show Eyeshadow in Eye-Candy that I gave her some times ago and even though I had to really dig the eyeshadow and even wet my brush for it to properly show on my lid, it still appeared more gold than yellow but, oh well! Then I added some black eyeshadow and eyeliner for definition and ta-dah!

For the cheeks, I used a GOSH lipstick which was a really bad idea because even though I applied loose powder on top to set it, it was a sticky mess and it eventually melted and rubbed off. For the nose, I used the same Maybelline eyliner that I used on my eyes, and it wasn't a great idea either because it rubbed off on everything - and everyone - I touched. Oh well!

My costume was quite simple too - it didn't cost me a thing! I simply used things I already had and I cut the ears and tails in cereal boxes.

This is NOT a camel toe, it's a crease!

Yellow tank - Forever21 | Yellow bikini bottom - Wal-Mart | Brown thigths - borrowed from my mother | Lightning earrings - Ardène

Of course, my costume was not complete without a proper manicure, and I got this super cute idea from Holly Ann-Aeree:

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen - Red*

Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Anti-Chip Top Coat*

It wasn't a big party but it was fun! We ate, drank, danced and played Twister... have you tried playing Twister with drunk people?
