Bath & Body Works Sweet Pea

Despite all the great things I constantly hear on the blogosphere about Bath & Body Works, I just don't seem to understand the hype, except maybe for their Slatkin & Co. candles, which are truly the best I have ever tried. I don't know, I have just never felt really compelled by something in this store. Is it because they don't offer products that are out of the ordinary? Or because none of their fragrance seemed really special? Not to mention that everything seemed super pricey for the quality... That was until I sniffed Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea is described as a blend of sweet pea petals and watery pear with freesia, fresh raspberry, and soft delicate musk. If I had not been recommended this fragrance by some lovely blogger friends, I would have probably skipped it because its name didn't really ring a bell to me and the description doesn't say much either - you really have to go smell it in the store to understand why I love it so much!

I have always been a big fan of sweet and fruity fragrances, and Sweet Pea is truly the best of both world - despite being described as a fruity floral, I would say there is only a slight hint of freesia and the notes I smell most are the pear and raspberry, which infuse Sweet Pea with a pleasant sweet side, without being sickly sweet.

Bath & Body Works often offers a printable coupon for a free Signature Collection travel-size item of your choice on their Facebook page (and on their website also, as I have been told) so of course, I took advantage of this and after bringing my mother with me to smell - almost - all of the products available in the store, I finally set up my mind for Sweet Pea, and I could not be happier with my choice! I'm not even interested in the other Bath & Body Works fragrances as none can compare to Sweet Pea.

Over time - and after a few coupons - I have aquired three items in the delicious Sweet Pea fragrance, Travel-size Body Lotion, Mini Triple Moisture Body Cream and Mini Fragrance Mist (originally $5 each). Of course, I was not expecting anything special from the liquidy body lotion, but the body cream is amazingly thick, rich and extremely moisturizing, even on my super dry and eczema-prone skin. As much as I love it, I will try to keep it in my handbag or a work to protect my poor hands. The fragrance mist was another happy surprise - the scent is not too loud, still it lingers for quite a while on the skin, and I enjoy to be able to catch a sniff of fragrance every now and then.

I must say, I'm quite tempted to acquire the Sweet Pea Eau de Toilette or the full-size Fine Fragrance Mist, which I'm sure will last me quite a while as I like to rotate my perfumes every day...

Be sure to check out Bath & Body Works website to have a look at their wide selection of Sweet Pea products.

Christmas Presents!

I know I know, I'm super late with this, but I guess it's better late than never? I still want to wish you all a happy New Year and I hope you had a blast with family and friends! I didn't expect to party too hard this year because I've been working almost all day since I started my new job as a chambermaid - which is pretty exhausting even if it doesn't appear to be - but I ended up partying until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning more often than I thought! Oh well, it's Christmas after all, and it was worth it (:

I didn't ask for specific presents this year except for some LUSH and Bath & Body Works products but I'm pretty happy with everything I received.

Hollow Milk Flavoured Confection Snowman Isn't it the cutest?

Mug & Hot chocolate set for Pet Lovers I can't resist big mug - you can never have too much coffee, can you? - and that doggie keychain is just too cute and super soft!

2012 Golden Rules - Virtues of the canine character - 2012 calendar I love to have a calendar with big squares in my room so I can write appointment, memos and other important things, and my father knows how I love golden retriever (:

Gift card at Tutti Frutti Diner My mother knows I love breakfast restaurants and I've never been to this one.

Gift card at the SAQ (The Société des alcools du Québec) Me, alcoholic? Noooo...

Jacob Double-Breasted Short Coat I was really due for a new winter coat as I totally destroyed mine when I was working as a gas station attendant and because I didn't want to dig a lot of money for another one, I bought a cheap one from Wal-Mart which, needless to say, didn't really keep me warm. So I've been resorting to steal my mother's coats (she has tons!) but when she saw this one at Jacob, she thought it would be great for me... but she wants to steal it sometimes =P I'm so happy it's red as I'm tired of the same old black coats!

Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS My boyfriend actually got me this in November and yes, it was supposed to be a Christmas gift but he couldn't wait - OK, I gave him his 3DS too! It's not that my old camera wasn't good, but more because I kept dropping it on the floor and now the door that keeps the batteried inside the camera wouldn't close by itself, which is very annoying because I had to keep my fingers on it to keep it closed. Also, my old camera was a bit bulky, but this one is super slim and it takes pictures wayyyy faster!

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Collector's Edition My boyfriend gave it to me as soon as it came out in the stores but hey, it's Zelda! I was so curious about this game, and let me just say that it doesn't disappoint! I miss Epona but flying on a bird is awesome too!

HP Deskjet F4280 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier What, I needed one for school! And it does everything (:

LUSH MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt This has been on my wishlist since forever because 1) marshmallow= yum! 2) it contains moisturizing cocoa butter and 3) it looks good enough to eat! I must admit I was a little disappointed that the fragrance was not heavier but maybe it's because it's made with marshamallow herb and not some kind of cheap fragrance.

LUSH Gingerbread House Bubble Bar This is not the type of smell I would typically go for but I asked for it because it was just too cute! I missed it last Christmas and I was so sad, but now I finally got my hands on it, yey!

LUSH Abombinaball Bath Bomb I bought this for my mother but not for me even if it was BOGO at the Boxing Day sale because the scent didn't personally appealed to me - I still have to really force my nose to smell something, and all I get is a slightr hint of sweet and citrusy vanilla. I love how big this bomb is though, and the yeti is just too cute!

LUSH Golden Wonder Bath Bomb I put this on my wishlist because form what I've seen on YouTube, this seemed like a gigantic bath bomb, and it really is! I personally prefer to my LUSH bath products in as many baths as I can so I was delighted to see in person that it's truly really big! It smells slightly citrusy to me but it's a very subtle fragrance.

LUSH Candy Mountain Bubble Bar If I'm right, this is basically the same thing as last year's Candy Cane Bubble Bar that I received from my boyfriend as on the LUSH website, it says "Our irresistible, vanilla scent comes back every holiday season, this year in twisty mountain form." To me, this is far from an " intoxicatingly delicious candy fragrance" as claimed on the website but maybe I love sweet products too much to even notice - Snow Fairy never makes me sick, for example! It doesn't really smell of candy cane either - it actually reminds me of bubblegum!

LUSH Candy Cane Soap I told my boyfriend to not buy me more soaps as I have enough to last me my whole life already but you know boys never listen! Anyway, I'm still happy to have received this one as it smells really fresh and sweet but not overly pepperminty, which I'm not a huge fan of. I think this soap is jut the right balance and I'm sure it will put me in a festive mood every time I will use it (:

LUSH The Godmother Soap This is my absolute favorite LUSH solid soap! It's like a grown-up version of Snow Fairy but it's still deliciously sweet. I still a big chunk from last Christmas to use up though!

Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cupcake 14.5 oz scented candle OMG This smells deliciously sweet, I just want to eat it! It seriously smells like cake icing, yum!

Slatkin & Co. Marshmallow Fireside 4 oz scented candle After all the hype there's been around this candle, I must say I'm a little disappointed. I didn't really know what to except but I know I wanted to smell marshmallow, which it doesn't really. Yes it smells sweet but I only get a slight hint of marshmallow. Maybe I should stop obessing with marshmallow anyway...

Slatkin & Co. Winter Candy Apple 4 oz scented travel candle This doesn't smell like apple nor candy. I'm just not able to put my finger on the exact scent but I still love it, it's a little sweet yet it's very subtle though.

Slatkin & Co. Vanilla Bean Noel 4 oz scented travel candle I love this, it really smells of real vanilla, not the cheap synthetic smell!

I was definitely spoiled this year, thank you baby, mom and dad! =D

Christmas Wishlist!

 (image: weheartit.com)

When I'm asked what I would like to receive for Christmas, I never know what to answer because I really don't need anything. However, if you insist, I can find some things I would love...

(image: revlon.com)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters I must admit I was sceptical about these when I first started to hear about them because they seemed overpriced for their sheerness, but the more I read about them on blogs, the more I want them! Their color appears to be easily buildable so this puts my first worry aside, but still, it doesn't appear to have a lot of product in one tube... anyway, I'm especially lemming after Strawberry Shortcake, Cotton Candy and Crème Brulée.

14.5 oz Slatkin & Co. candles from Bath & Body Works Yes, I still think it's crazy to pay $20+ for a freaking candle, but you ladies got me sooooo curious about them, not to mention I'm slowly starting to believe that  you actually have to pay that crazy amount of money for quality candles that really smell something. Because I'm into sweet and fruity scents, I'm especially lusting after Marshmallow Fireside (toasted marshmallows and sweet vanilla cream wrapped in the aroma of rich smoldering woods), Winter Candy Apple (a spicy surprise blend of candy apple and orange zest, with highlights of cinnamon, neroli and winter musk) and Frosted Cupcake (a delicious blend of butter cream frosting, sugar and fresh vanilla bean).

Sex Bomb, Golden Wonder, Mrs. Whippy, Vanilla Fountain

LUSH goodies Of course, Christmas time is the perfect time to stock up on LUSH products because of their amazing Boxing Day sale! Last Christmas, my boyfriend surprised me with tons of goodies because they had a 2 for 1 sale on everything in the store! I already have enough soaps to last me a couple of months - or years! - but I love their bath bombs and I'm curious about their bath melts and their bubble bars, which I have never tried before.

Magic Wand, Gingerbread House, Candy Mountain, Ma Bar, The Melting Snowman , MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment, Pow Wow Lip Scrub

(image: weheartit.com)

IPL hair removal on my legs I'm already having IPL (intense pulsed light) on my underarms (almost done, yey!) and my bikini area but I tell you, this sh*t is freaking addicting! Yes it's incredibly pricey but it's soooo worth it in the long run! Think about it: no more shaving or waxing, no more razor cuts or burns, not more ingrown hairs, no more time wasted! Having the whole leg treate with IPL would cost somewhere around $3000 if I'm right but my clinique (Clinique Aqua) often offers amazing special such as 1/2 leg for $149 per session (the average person needs between 6 to 10 sessions).

MAC gift card Because I'm always lemming after something from MAC (*cough*lipsticks*cough*) but I feel so bad to dig such a ridiculous amount of money on beauty products... yes, these are quality products and blahblahblah but I honestly don't really care about MAC except for their lipsticks because I have yet to find a drugstore brand that is similar in formulation - and no, I absolutely don't need more lipsticks.
