OOTD | Don't make me, cause I'll do it, red button and we'll all go

I was over the moon to have been able to go see my favorite band, Billy Talent, for the second time in my life at Montreal's Bell Center on April 13! My boyfriend was able to buy tickets for the Dead Silence tour before they were sold out, and it was awesome that he came to see them with me since we don't really share the same musical tastes (in my opinion, Justin Bieber is not music, for example). Billy Talent always puts on quite an epic show and this time was no different! They played an interesting mix of old and new songs to keep the crowd entertained all night long, and I never wanted the show to end! I was a bit disappointed that Sum 41 have been forced to drop off the remaining dates of the Dead Silence tour because of Deryck's recurring back problems, but at least Monster Truck took over and they were great!

I don't have much of an interesting outfit to show you but I wanted to be comfortable and not get all hot and sweaty when I would be jumping everywhere, so I put together something really simple. I also had the opportunity to wear my leopard print flats for the first time since I bought them last year!

striped shirt - Walmart | Sqin jeans - H&M | studded belt - local flea market | leopard print flats - Sears | earrings - Ardene

When I went to see Billy Talent for the first time a few years ago, I bought a male shirt in small which I wore as a pajama but that I eventually lost (?!), so I was over the moon when I saw that they were selling ladies shirt at the show, and my boyfriend very kindly bought me the skull one! I love it so much, I never want to take it off now ahah!

Do you love Billy Talent as much as I do?

Christmas 2012 Presents!

So you might think I am a bit late with this post (as usual) but the reason why I am posting it only today is because we partied at my brother's house for Christmas and we had so many gifts under the tree at my mother's house that we simply could not bring them all in the car, so we ended up opening the remaining gifts on New Year's Eve.

Now I know not everybody enjoys these kind of posts because they can be considered "show off" or "braggy" but I am truly grateful for everything I receive every Christmas and I know not everybody has this chance. The reason why I chose to share my presents with you ladies is solely because I personally love to have a nosey at what you received for Christmas, so please feel free to leave me a link to your post if you wrote one and I will be sure to read it!

10K Gold Zirconia Stud Earrings

I am not the type of girl who falls head over heels for jewelry - my typical everyday accessories are $20 "diamond" studs that I got from eBay, a dainty necklace and sometimes, one statement piece such as my Leopard Head Diamond Ring - so when my boyfriend handed me a delicate jewelry box, I did not know what to expect. I really hoped it was not some fancy or extravagant piece of jewelry that would have costed him way too much than I would have been comfortable with - I was actually super relieved happy to open the box and discover two shiny and delicate zirconia studs earrings, which are exactly the perfect size for my taste!

La Senza Serenity Gift Set, Bath & Body Works 'Jungle Kiss' Scented Candle, LUSH Fun 'Red', LUSH Melting Snowman, LUSH Magic Wand

I have never tried any body care products from La Senza but this gift set includes a body wash and a body butter with oatmeal and soy which are said to calm and soothe the skin - I bet that will be great for my eczema-prone skin! I was super happy to received some LUSH products (my boyfriend picked two of each Melting Snowman and Magic Wand because he knew I wanted them so bad last year but they were sold out - awwww!), and I am really looking forward to play with that new Fun thingy!

Purr by Katy Perry Bath Collection

OK, I am cheating a bit with this one because my boyfriend gave it to me as a birthday present but since I never wrote a post about my birthday gifts, I figured out I would just throw them in here and nobody would notice - but he did! Purr has been on my wishlist since I smelled it at La Baie, with its mouthwatering fruity  notes of tangerine, pear, jasmine, honeysuckle, amber, vanilla and musk, just to name a few! Oh and how tacky cute is the bottle? I have never been a big fan of the shower gel and body lotion included in these gift sets because they tend to be cheap but I love how they also included an handy purse spray!

Celebration 2013 lottery ticket, Rendezvous by Marc Levy, Billy Talent tickets for their April 13 show, Eeyore Christmas tree ornament, doggie cookie jar

I never buy books for myself since I prefer to rent them at the library but I do love to receive some since to me, books are special treasures to keep forever. My father introduced me to Marc Levy who is truly a special and unique writer - I can never put his books down and the ending is always twisted and unexpected,  so I was thrilled when my father gifted me his latest novel.

I did not expect my boyfriend to buy tickets to Billy Talent's upcoming show in April for him and I - it is my favorite band, but let's just that we do not share the same musical taste! I am super excited to be ale to go with him, since the tickets sold out quickly.

DAVID's TEA Salted Caramel, Cocoa Canella, Big Apple, Love Elixir for Her, Red Velvet Cake, Oh Canada!, Chocolate Rocket, Chocolate Orange

You can probably tell that David's Tea is my latest obsession, and that I have a thing for sweet and chocolatey teas! I have never tasted pu'erh teas before - these are said to control weight and aid digestion - so I am especially curious about Chocolate Orange. I think it is safe to say that I won't need to buy more teas until 2014!

This was a totally unexpected gift from my boyfriend since he knows how much I love to bake desserts! I have never heard of those cupcake makers before but apparently, Babycakes also offer cake pop makers, donut makers, pie makers and much more, but with the original Babycakes cupcake maker, you can also bake eight cupcakes, pies, tartlets and appetizers easily in about 5 minutes - wow! The Babycakes cupcake maker comes complete with all the accessories you need to bake and decorate a variety of cupcakes and other tasty treats. The manual includes recipes, hints and suggestions that will be sure to delight friends and family.

Slippers from my brother and onesie made by Magali

These slippers were actually a gift from my little brother to his girlfriend but they are a size 5/6 so they were too small for her since she usually wears a size 8, but when my brother suggested I tried them on, they surprisingly fitted, even though I usually wear a size 7, so he gave them to me instead!

As for the onesie, can you believe it was made my Magali, who is probably the best seamstress ever? She knows I like to wear pajamas all day when I stay at home so she wanted to make me one that would be more stylish than the typical onesie you see in the stores - this one actually looks a bit sporty completed with a faux fur hood, pockets, and even built-in 'socks'! I can't believe how comfy it is, I never want to take it off, it is just so soft and... amazing! Not to mention it is yellow, my favorite color!

Lindtt Assorted Milk Chocolates, Moritz Original Icy Squares, Droste Milk Chocolate Pastilles, Lindtt Chocolate Santa, Allan Big Foot Chewy Candy Canes, Jolly Rancher Jolly Beans, Cavendish & Harvey Orange Drops, Maynards Juicy Squirts Berry

I guess Christmas is not Christmas without chocolates and candies, right? I am actually not a huge fan of candies but I can never say no to chocolate! Maynards Juicy Squirts must be my favorite candies and my boyfriend recently introduced me to these Orange Drops which he used to eat when he was young and these are just so good - they taste like real orange! My mother knows I am not a fan of the original peppermint candy cane so she got me some Big Foot candy canes with a chewy center which are mouthwatering!

There are a few things that I forgot to include in the pictures such as Billy Talent's latest album, Dead Silence, which I was too lazy to go fetch in the car but you can be sure that it has been on replay since I got it (as a birthday present from my boyfriend, actually), as well as a bottle of my favorite wine, MASI Modello Delle Venezie Rosso, which is a succulent fruity red wine. My little brother gave me a Super Mario bath towel because I love anything video game themed and my boyfriend also treated me to a David's Tea FORLIFE Tea for One Teapot, which is an absolute perfect all-in-one tea set to make a single serving- I don't think I have gone a single day without using it! I was definitely spoiled but as I mentionned earlier, I am very thankful for everything I received and I hope you had a great time exchanging gifts as much as we had!

I hope you had a great time with your loved ones these Holidays and Happy New Year!

Birthday Wishlist

I always enjoy having a nosey at my favorite bloggers' wishlists and since my birthday is coming (on November 2), I thought it would be fun to do one as well - not to mention that making a collage with Picisto is tons of fun ahah! Now I hope you won't find this list boring - no, I don't need the latest iPad or Kurig coffee maker, and yes, I was tempted to include Bath & Body Works candles and tons of LUSH goodies as well but I still have tons to use up so it would be a bit of a waste. I could always put some on my Christmas wishlist... =P

1. I have been a big fan of Billy Talent since my brother's friend made me listen to River Below in high school, which resulted in me immediately rushing to hmv to buy their first album. I bought their second and third albums as soon as they came out, and I after listening to Viking Death March and Surprise Surprise (talk about an epic music video!) on repeat, I can't wait to get my hands on Dead Silence, which was released on September 11.

2. Bath melts are probably my favorite LUSH products because unlike bath bombs, they are not as harsh on my dry and eczema-prone skin, and appart from its cuteness, I absolutely cannot justify why I need want Melting Snowman.

3. Who have not heard of Britney Spears Fantasy? Being a huge gourmand fragrances fan, I have hold off on buying Fantasy for so long because I really want to use up a few perfumes in my collection before they lose their scent but it is getting really hard! This fragrance is described as a sensual and gourmand scent, opening with fruity mix of litchi, golden quince and kiwi. The provocative heart is composed of jasmine and white chocolate and the base combines orris root, musk and woods. To me, it just smells - perfection? OK, maybe not as much as my beloved Jessica Simpson Fancy, but still, pretty close!

4. I have been really liking the look of a light scarf over a comfy jumper paired with leggings lately - it is a great versatile accessory for fall, and who can resist leopard print? I have actually ordered this one after adding it to my wishlist!

5. I know, I should not have smelled Katy Perry Purr when I spotted it at La Baie, but I did - and now, I need it! It is actually more fruity than sweet, but with notes of tangerine, pear, jasmine, honeysuckle, amber, vanilla and musk, just to name a few, it is just so deliciously juicy! I am not sure about the tackly-looking bottle but hey, it's still cute!

6. Sum 41 is another of those bands I have been listening to mainly in since high school and I eventually stopped and somehow forgot about them until I recently heard Blood In My Eyes and that's it, it's all it took for me to be hooked again. I browsed the songs of their most recent album Screaming Bloody Murder on YouTube and although I must say I was a bit disappointed - their songs are repetitive and Sum 41 does not seem to be the energic punk-rock band it was when they released All Killer, No Filler - but being a fan, I am  loyal to them and this album is definitely going on my wishlist.

7. I have always wanted thigh high boots since I spotted Kim Kardashian wearing a pair, but I am wondering if they would fit my body type? I still have not found the perfect pair though!

8. I think Green Day will always be my all-time favorite band and I eagerly waited for ¡Uno!, the first of three albums to come in the next four months. I must admit I was not exactly blowned away when I listened to Oh Love, the first single, for the first time because it was far away from Green Day's usually politically incorrect musical style, but I really think it does get better with each listen. I was happily surprised by ¡Uno! because each song seems to have its own style, which is a nice refreshing change. Other favorites of mine are Nuclear Family and Stay the Night.

9. I kicked myself for passing up on LUSH Magic Wand last Christmas because I love how it is re-usable, and also, because it has the fragrance of the best-selling Snow Fairy shower gel!

10. Taylor Swift Wonderstruck is yet another fruity and sweet fragrance with notes of freesia, green tea, apple blossom, raspberry and dewberry, how can I resist?
