Project Pan Them All | July Empties

I still can't believe how I used up the 75 ml tubes of Caprina Fresh Goat's Milk Body Lotion in both the Original and Orchid Oil versions insanely quickly! These were great, and I'm glad they are also available in 350 ml bottle with pump. Caprina body lotions are light, non-greasy, absorb quickly and I have found them to help my skin stay moisturized for a while without feeling the need to re-apply. I must add that I prefer the formula of the Caprina Hydrating Cream with Fresh Goat's Milk because it's thicker and more moisturizing, but it's still non-greasy and absorbed very quickly.

I received a coupon for a free box of Cottonelle Fresh Flushable Moist Wipes some times ago and even though these wipes are designed "To feel cleaner and fresher than toilet paper alone", after reading the ingredients, I decided to use them on my face for a quick clean in the morning when I'm in a rush before school or work. It worked well and my skin was not irritated at all - if I remember well, these wipes contain aloes. The only thing I did not like is that the wipes did not stay wet for long and I had to spritz them with toner but oh well, they were free after all! I also like that they come with an "EasyReach hanger" so that you can simply scotch it to a wall which makes it very handy - have no fear, it's also easy to remove without damaging the wall.

I usually try to stay away from clay masks because most of them tend to leave my skin even more dry than before, but I did not have this problem with Elemis FreshSkin Deep Clean Purifying Face Mask. Still, I won't repurchasing it because I don't feel it really did something for my skin.

It's only when I used up Marcelle Power Volume Mascara that I realized that I never reviewed it... but it just kept disappointing me! When I started using it, it was great and provided very good volume to my lashes, but it quickly began to weight them down and it stopped holding a curl, which is a big turn-off for me - mascara-wise, of course! - because of my short and straight lashes. I am very rarely disappointed by a product from Marcelle but I'm currently using their Xtension Plus Mascara, which promises to provide extreme length and curl and it really does!

As I'm experimenting with fake tan, I'm trying to use up the ones I've had for some times, and this sample of Beautisol Need I Glow More? Face Self-Tanner for Normal-Dry-Sensitive Skin is one of them. It was my first proper experience with self tanner and it was OK, although it doesn't provide a tan as dark as I would like.

Biotherm Ultra-Fluid Body Milk SPF 15* was OK, but $35 for a sunscreen that leaves my skin greasy and sticky is a bit much, not to mention the weird packaging that makes it very hard to squeeze some product out. This product is supposed to be fragrance-free but it does have a very light and pleasant scent that is a little citrusy.

I'm not sure what to say about Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream - I was certainly not expecting its texture to be almost like a gel, not to mention that it's a bit hard to rub into the skin, and I usually prefer my foot lotion to be more refreshing. Also, this one didn't appear to really moisturize my feet.

I'm a newbie when it comes to self-tanners, but I must admit I'm getting tired of my paleness. Even when I spend the entire day outside, I hardly tan! That's why I jumped at the opportunity to try this self-tanning lotion.

I was sent a sample of the Face Self-Tanner for Normal-Dry-Sensitive Skin:

How cute is the packaging?

If you order the 1.5 fl. oz. self-tanner, here's what you will receive:
  • 1.5 fl. oz. Face Self-Tanning Lotion For Normal-Dry-Sensitive Skin Types
  • FREE Application Guide

I must say I really appreciated the help of the application guide, as I didn't have a clear idea on how you were supposed to apply self-tan.

Looking at the little lady on the card, I was afraid to look like an Ompa Loopa, but I went at it anyway.

I must say the guide color didn't reassure me either, but I should have known better (heck, that's why it's called a guide color)! The texture is very light, almost like a gel, and it's super quickly absorbed into the skin, delivering an instant and gorgeous golden-brown color. You really don't need to use a big quantity of product!

I am extremely pleased with the results! I didn't apply the lotion on my neck on purpose so you could easily see the difference of color. Please note that the "after" picture was taken after a few hours, when the tan was fully developped.

The results on my arm after about 1 hour (between the lines)

I think the tan is very natural-looking, even on my super pale skin. I've always been a little fraid of self-tanners because I thought they would come out way too dark on my skin, but now I'm reassured.

Another reason why I never properly experimented with self-tan is because I couldn't imagine going a day without moisturizer! Call me crazy, but when you have dry skin like I do (prone to eczema, on top of that), moisturizer is not a luxury. With Beautisol Face Self-Tanning Lotion formulated for dry skin, I could actually feel my skin being moisturized and smoother.

I know from reading lots of beauty blogs that a big deal-breaker when it comes to self-tanners is the scent, but Beautisol Need I Glow More? Face Self-Tanner has a subtle smell in the tube that quickly goes away when applied on the skin.

Overall, I can honestly say that I'm amazed by this product! I don't fear self-tanners anymore, and I'll be sure to keep you updated with my experiments (:

You can buy the full size Beautisol Need I Glow More? Face Self-Tanner for Normal-Dry-Sensitive Skin (1.5 fl. oz.) for $26.00 here.
