Guest Post: Sexy, Hot Feet - Top Tips For Great Looking Feet

This post was written by Muzammil Bashir, who is working with the Senior Editor of pretty-small-shoes.com – specialising in small size shoes for women with small size feet.

Keeping your feet looking their best requires a regular foot care routine. In fact, women whose feet always look sexy and hot, probably spend as much time caring for their feet as they do caring for their faces. Your feet take a lot of punishment every day and unless you are vigilant, they can soon begin to look anything but attractive. Here are some tips for great looking feet.

Establish a daily foot care routine. There are very few things less attractive or sexy than dirty, smelly, feet. Wash your feet at least once a day, more frequently if you need to. Your feet contain more than a quarter of a million sweat glands that can excrete as much as a cup of moisture a day. Wash away any accumulations of dirt or sweat with warm water and soap and use a nail brush to clean under your toenails. Dry your feet well as the bacteria and fungi that cause common foot infections, thrive in warm, moist conditions. Use a pumice stone to remove dry hardened skin and follow that up with a good moisturizer.

Buy moisturizers specifically designed for use on your feet, rather than using face or body creams. Specialized foot care products, like foot creams, are generally rich in emollients and better able to penetrate the tough skin on your soles and heels.

Spot check your toenails regularly to see if they need trimming. Polished, well groomed toenails are always attractive. Use nail clippers to cut the nail straight across and smooth the edges with an emery board.

Invest in an electric footbath. It is a great way to pamper your feet. These jetted baths can be used for soaking your feet prior to exfoliation or to give tired, aching feet a relaxing water massage after a long day. Add some Epsom salt or a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the bubbling water for a truly relaxing experience that improves the circulation in your feet, eases aches and pains, and leaves your feet feeling soft and refreshed.

Give yourself a full pedicure once a week. Although you can treat yourself to a salon pedicure from time-to-time, it can be expensive. You can give yourself a professional-looking pedicure at home in about an hour. Check online for step-by-step instructions.

For something a little different, treat yourself to one of the fastest-growing beauty treatments, the latest craze in foot care; a fish pedicure. You can relax while more than a hundred tiny Garra Rufa fish nibble away at your feet, removing all of the rough, dry, dead skin. The procedure is completely painless, as the inch long carp have no teeth. They use their suction-cup shaped mouths to literally kiss the dead skin away, leaving the healthy, soft, new skin underneath untouched. You’ll experience a tingling sensation that feels like a foot massage. A fifteen to thirty minute session of exfoliation by the fish is followed up by a regular pedicure.

All it really takes to put your best feet forward is regular care. Then you can strap on those sexy sandals and flaunt your feet with confidence.

  2. Hi Gaby! I actually do a number of these things in the post which I guess is good :) I have tried the fish pedicure a couple of times in Asia when I was vacationing there last year and that was fun. My feet really did feel a LOT softer after both times unlike any foot file I've tried. I use the ped egg for my foot file although I have heard a lot about Diamoncil foot files sold at Sephora....my sister bought one and loves that foot file. I also have a Dr. Scholls foot bath which is really neat with the different massagers and jets but it's a bit of a pain to clean out and store to be honest :S
I love foot creams because most of them smell like peppermint which is my favourite. Right now I'm using Burt Bee's Mama Bee Foot and Leg cream which is amazing!
Have you tried a number of these tips in your guest blog post?

  5. @Venus In Virgo: I'm glad you liked this post! No I didn't get the Anastasia brow kit yet, don't know what's happening with this though... did you get yours?

@ Karen Law : Hi Karen! I'm not sure how I feel regarding the fish pedicure, it seems pretty disgusting to me, I don't know why, I guess I would fear they won't change the water between clients or something LOL! I know I should treat myself to a pedicure more often but I tend to be more diligent about it in the summer when my feet are showing. I do slather lotion on them everyday though! I do need a new foot cream as I'm currently trying to use up a hand and foot cream but it doesn't have that yummy peppermint scent. I have tried one from Burt's Bees in the past and loved it, might repurchase when I see it on sale =P
