OSMIUM For Men

There is a strong meaningful heritage behind OSMIUM® and the founder truly believes in the benefits of producing products with natural and plant-based therapeutic qualities. This explains unique ingredients such as Turmeric and Ginger in the Clean & Refresh Cleanser and Siberian Ginseng & Juniper in Age Defend Shave.

OSMIUM® strengthens a rich heritage since 1917 of over 92 years within the field of plant medicine. The founder of the range comes from a family which is the world’s first, oldest and still the biggest producer of Ayurvedic herbal medicines. The pioneering member; the founder’s great grandfather, has written several books on plant therapeutics which to this day are used as reference material.

The OSMIUM® range is available in some of the worlds finest department stores such as Selfridges, Ludwig Beck, leading online skincare websites and Luxury 5 Star Hotels such Spa 51, The Savoy & Pestana Chelsea to name a few.

I had the chance to try some samples from this brand.

Clean & Refresh Cleanser ($25.00 for 125ml)

93 % Natural and 99 % Preservative Free.

Whilst soap is harsh on facial skin and often causes irritations, the Clean & Refresh Cleanser is a creamy luxurious cleanser which will leave the skin feeling invigorated, clearer, and healthier. A superb non-foaming cleanser, it removes dirt, grime, excess oils, minimises blemishes, and will not dry out the skin. Free from Sulfates.

Contains coconut, ginger, turmeric and sunflower extracts.

I love that this cleanser is non-foaming (and free from sulfates), as foaming ones tend to dry my skin (and it's already dry enough). You don't need a big quantity of product as it's creamy and somewhat thick.

This cleanser didn't dry out my skin, and it didn't feel tight after use. That said, don't expect that squeaky clean feeling.

The smell is more natural, like a blend of herbs.

94 % Natural and 99.2 % Preservative Free.

A deluxe plant-rich non-foaming shaving cream, the Age Defend Shaving cream contains the most excellent ingredients to protect, soften and soothe skin whilst providing for an ultra-close and comfortable shave. Plant oils provide excellent razor glide, and the non-drying and calming formula reduces irritation, minimises redness and inflammation. Free from Sulfates.

Contains Siberian ginseng and juniper, aloe Vera and chamomile, and eucalyptus oil.

I was disappointed with this product as the consistency is so runny and light, it's a real mess to use and I cut myself a few times. It looks nice straight from the tube, but when applied to wet skin, it just melts and becomes annoyingly runny. I didn't know what to expect from a natural shaving cream as I'm used to thick and foamy shaving gel (or even, a plain old bar of soap or hair conditioner), but the texture of this one is more milky than creamy.

But I must say that I didn't notice irritation, redness or inflammation after use (expect a few cuts) - even though my skin didn't feel especially soft and soothed.

You can tell this shaving cream is meant for men by the smell, which is very fresh and manly.

96 % Natural and 99 % Preservative Free.

A rich, silky and fast-absorbing matt formula, the Cellular Renew Anti – Ageing Crème delivers protection and resilience against external factors to help rebuild healthy cell layers and diminish lines and wrinkles. This anti-ageing cream also supports collagen production to deliver enhanced skin elasticity and firmness. The crème appears with a pleasant, cool refreshing fragrance.

Contains sodium hyaluronate, chitin, betaglucan and vitamins A, C and E.
The texture is rich and creamy, and it's quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving it totally matt, without even a hint of shine! Now that will make a man happy.

Like the cleanser, the smell is more natural, like a blend of herbs.

97 % Natural and 99.5 % Preservative Free.

A light, matt formulation, use this daily moisturiser for all-day optimum hydration. Peak Performance Energise & Renew Moisturiser will recharge and boost your skin with anti-oxidant vitamins and soothing plant actives to condition skin texture and promote smoothness.

Contains avocado, rosehip oils, juniper, menthol and allantoin, plus vitamins E and C.

The texture is a little lighter and more runny than Cellular Renew, but still creamy and a pleasure to use. It just melts into the skin, leaving it matt.

It smells similar to Cellular Renew, but a little fresher.

  2. thank you so much! =) I think it's only ok, it's a bit too wet for my taste and it has a lot of fall down =/ that's why it's not a favorite =)

  5. Wow you tested the products yourself!

I've gotten some men's skin care products to review and I'm trying hard to convince my boyfriend to be my test subject.

    This range looks awesome.

  6. That's so cool that you got samples of these products for men. I think my bf would like the matte anti-aging cream. That boy's face is always shiny lol.

And in response to your comment. We have a lot of WnW lipsticks in stock at my drugstore. It's the eye shadow palettes that are always sold out.

@MakeupbyThess: Yes, it flakes like crazy )=

@나니 : I have swatched Lala on my hand here: http://gabysbeautyblog.blogspot.com/2010/11/giveaways-i-have-won-in-november.html I love it, it's so pigmented and gorgeous! Oh and the smell... yum!

@Kim's Vanity : I agree haha! I was actually scared of nude lipstick LOL, not Leprechauns! Well I've never seen some so I can't tell hehe =P

@Jen W: Yes, I wanted to test them myself because when I asked my boyfriend, I knew he didn't really want to and I wanted to give an honest review. I don't see why these should be reserved only to men!

@EveryDay Makeup blog : Yes, it's great for an oily face, especially for men. Yes I've heard that the palettes are quite hard to find, but I was surprised to not find any lipsticks. I thought they were discontinued?

@rakhshanda: I'm glad you liked it, thanks (=

  9. I'm sure this will be a helpful review for many since I don't think there are many reviews for this brand at all. Seems like you really liked most of the Osmium products :)
That's too bad the shaving foam was a bit runny...like too runny. I'm use to thick shaving foam too and I only use Satin Gillette skincare gel shaving foam. The guys I know use Edge and I've actually used it a few times myself since I sort of like the cologne-ish scent sometimes LOL
