Giveaways prizes in the mail!

I've been lucky enough to win three giveaways recently, and I thought it would be interesting to show you the products along with some swatches.

My prize from Halifax's giveaway

  • Annabelle Makeup Pro A-21 Large Shader Brush
  • Annabelle Studio Mono Eyeshadow - Graffiti
  • Annabelle Studio Mono Eyeshadow - Sugardust
  • Annabelle Studio Mono Eyeshadow - Chlorine
  • Annabelle Studio Mono Eyeshadow - Indigo Glow
  • Annabelle Trio Eyeshadow - Holy Smoke
  • Annabelle Studio Custom Quad Refillable Compact
Annabelle Studio Mono Eyeshadow in Graffiti, Indigo Glow, Chlorine and Sugardust (without flash)

Annabelle Studio Mono Eyeshadow in Graffiti, Indigo Glow, Chlorine and Sugardust (with flash)

Mix and match eyeshadow shades ranging from go-anywhere neutrals to catwalk-crazy brights to create your own CUSTOM QUAD compact! No waste on unwanted shades: customize your perfect combo with only the colours you love and keep them in our refillable magnetic compact.

Our ultra-fine and strongly pigmented eyeshadows apply evenly, blend easily and are long-lasting. Textures and finishes range from velvety mattes to luminous metallics.

Be sure to check out the limited-edition trend shades to update your look.

Suggested retail price: $4.25

Graffiti is the most gorgeous shimmery black ever! I think this is what you call love at first sight LOL. Indigo Glow is well pigmented, but I'm not really a fan of blue eyeshadow, unless it's a really dark blue (like B-Ray). As for Chlorine and Sugardust... well I prefer darker colors on my eyes, but I guess I could make them work somedays?

Annabelle Trio Eyeshadow in Holy Smoke (without flash)

Annabelle Trio Eyeshadow in Holy Smoke (with flash)

With our many colours and different finishes, you are sure to find the perfect eyeshadow in the blink of an eye. Our highly pigmented powders are long-lasting and available in 4 ultra-fine, silky textures: matte for a velvety colour, pearl for a soft shine, shimmering for a luminous and subtle shine, metallic for intense luminance.

Annabelle Eyeshadows are available in 3 formats: Single, Duo or Trio.

Suggested retail price: $7.50

I already had this trio eyeshadow and I gave it to a friend because, like I said, I prefer darker colors on my eyes. This is not very pigmented, and the only interesting shade is the shimmery brown, but I just can't seem to make it work (too sheer!).

Annabelle Makeup Pro A-21 Large Shader Brush

The A-21 Large Shader Brush is an absolute must. Its wide, flat shape makes eye shadow application a breeze! It’s best used for an all-over application or to blend your favourite shades.

Made entirely of natural pony hair, each one is trimmed in a way that ensures optimal control when applying wet or dry eye shadow. The Annabelle® Makeup Pro Brushes are first glued, and then crimped. The hairs are manually placed in order to have that rounded shape, then glued and finally crimped.

Suggested retail price: $8.50

Annabelle Studio Custom Quad Refillable Compact

Customize your look by mixing & matching from all the must-have shades and create your own Custom Quad Compact. Store your favourite shades in this magnetic compact, which holds 4 eyeshadows. The compact is refillable so you can replace individual shades when they run out and keep up-to-date with the latest colour trends.

Available only at Shopper's Drug Mart.

Suggested retail price: $5.25

Thank you Halifax! =D

My prize from Farah's giveaway

I was also lucky enough to win Farah's big Cargo giveaway out of 362 participants!

It was delivered by UPS.

How cute is this box?

The goodies, nicely packed (=

  • Cargo's Color Palette in Los Angeles
  • Cargo's Contour Palette in Malibu
  • Cargo's Water Resistant Bronzer
  • Cargo's Lip Gloss Quad in Oceania
Color Palette in Los Angeles (without flash)

Color Palette in Los Angeles (with flash)

A collection of four playful eye shadow shades in one convenient palette. The vibrant professional quality shadows are both blendable and layerable.

Value: $28

This palette seems insanely pigmented, and I especially like the purple and blue shades.

It looks like an iPod... isn't it? LOL.

Contour Palette in Malibu (without flash)

Contour Palette in Malibu (with flash)

Includes a shell pink highlighter, CARGO Blush in Catalina for a natural, bright pink cheek and a neutral contour.

Value: $34

This palette looks interesting as I have nothing similar in my stash. I'm afraid the "contour" color will be a little too dark for my skintone, but we'll see. The packaging is so sleek!

Water Resistant Bronzer (without flash)

Water Resistant Bronzer (with flash)

Swatch from Cargo website (golden bronze)

Water Resistant Bronzer provides a gorgeous bronze glow that stays put rain or shine. The specialized formula contains a unique silicone-coated talc that provides superior adhesion to the skin that withstands water and perspiration. This bronzer, in a universally flattering medium bronze shade, contains micronized light diffusers to ensure a gorgeously natural, non-shiny glow.

Value: $28

This appears to be really shimmery, but when I tried it on my face, it looked great! I haven't put it to the test to see if it's really water resistant, but it is interesting though! I love the tin, so cute ^^

Lip Gloss Quad in Oceania (with flash)

Swatch from Cargo website (iced pink, shimmering raspberry, golden pink, fuschia)

Packaged in CARGO's classic tin, these quartets of classic gloss shades have an unbeatable formulation that provides sheer, slick color.

Value: $25

As I'm a big fan of lipglosses, I can already tell you that I will be pretty happy with this quad, except maybe for the darkest shade (shimmering raspberry?), which seems to be a little dark for my skintone. Besides that, the two lightest shades seem really similar, and the fuschia one is stunning!

That is an amazing prize, and I can't wait to try and show you everything out in a FOTD! Thank you so much Farah!

  2. The light colours are great for hightlight on your browbone or inner corner. And when you are in a rush, a wash of light colour all over the lid could do. Graffiti is love at first sight alright :)

Great prizes you got, venture out and try all colours, don't exclude them because you don't normally wear a certain shade, just my 2 cents

  7. @Halifax: I do use light colors to highlight the browbone or inner corner, but I don't like them on the lids. I have blue eyes and I like to compliment them with darker colors (like Graffiti!)

    @Chels: Thank you!

    @KayKay: Thanks =D

@Leenda: I've heard you can order Annabelle products by phone?

  14. Hi Gaby!
Wow, awesome prizes that you won :) Congratulations!
I love the pictures of the swatches you took - the cargo eye shadows turned out so vibrant, esp the purple and blue like you said. I love vibrant colour eye shadows that are pigmented - that way you can always blend if you want less colour but you don't need to layer it on thick to get colour payoff ;)
I think you'll love Cargo - I'm pretty impressed with the brand myself and they often have packages you can buy that are huge discount rather than buying the products separately.
I love the packaging as well on the Cargo Contour Palette. Yes! It does remind me of an iPod as well ;)
And I love the smokey eye colours from the Annabelle collection - very wearable colours for clubbing or nights out especially! And I know you love clubbing as much as I do =)
