LUSH Golden Wonder Bath Bomb - Luxurious Champagne Soak

I have a bad habit of never using my LUSH products fast enough, hence why most of them have passed their expiration date - Glögg and Snow Fairy, just to name a few... but don't worry, they are still good! - but I know that LUSH products don't have preservatives so if you wait too long before using your bath bombs, the results could be disappointing. I can't say I had a bad experience with Golden Wonder, but sadly, I don't really understand the hype surrounding it either.

The citrusy scent was not really heavy when smelling Golden Wonder from its bag so I did not have high hopes regarding how it would smell in the bath, and I was right - I could barely smell a thing, but I did detect some citrusy notes that completely vanished after half an hour and that, of course, did not linger on my skin at all.

From the plain look of Golden Wonder, I was expecting the water to turn a boring urine yellow, but I was surprised to see the bath turn various colors as the bath bomb fizzed, which was really entertaining. It did start fizzing yellow and white, but then, as the gift "unwraps", it spit a miniature bomb - which is what you can hear rattling inside Golden Wonder when you shake it - that dissolved to blue, pink and purple pigments! I must say I did not getany of those dissolvable paper stars everyone is talking about though. When Golden Wonder vanished, the water was left a gorgeous deep blue teal color completed with a layer of gold shimmers.

I was expecting the sweet orange oil to leave my skin soft and smooth but no, all I was left with was some gold shimmers, but it is very subtle and actually lovely. Golden Wonder was OK, but nothing that could justify why I would repurchase it.

LUSH Golden Wonder is already sold out on the LUSH website but you might still be able to grab it in store for $6.95 if you hurry!

  1. Quand j'ai vu l'eau de ton bain, je me suis dis : ahhh, j'aimerais vraiment me baigner dans un océan qui a de l'eau comme ça! En tout cas, c'est très jolie :)

  3. This makes such pretty colours! I always prefer to shower instead of getting a bath, and I have so, so much from Lush but I never get anything for the bath. I think I need to!x

  6. I love this bath bomb. I purchased two more in the post-Christmas sale. It's a shame you didn't see any of the stars in yours.
