Cake Beauty Satin Sugar Hair & Body Refreshing Powder For Darker Hues

It is no secret that dry shampoo is a life saver and I just can't resist trying them all, so when I spotted this award winning and best selling dry shampoo on EdenFantasys, I knew I had to have it! This is actually the first Cake product I have ever tried so I'm really excited to share my thoughts with you ladies!

At first glance, I thought the packaging of Cake Satin Sugar Refreshing Powder was cute, but I quickly became annoyed at how messy it is! You have to sprinkle the powder into your hands and run through your hair, concentrating on root areas. I prefer aerosol formulas which makes it easier to target the roots without spilling product everywhere, not to mention how the canister is not travel-friendly at all - just look at that mess!

I was actually surprised at the velvety texture of this powder - it feels lighter than most dry shampoos I have tried. It does not feel sticky and it does not weight my hair down or makes it look dull or powdery. I also like how the cocoa-tinted powder blends effortlessly into darker hair, making it ideal for ladies with red, black and brown hair - and any hue in between! You don't need a big quantity of product at once and I have found it to be quickly absorbed into the hair - I wait about 20 minutes to comb it out and tadaah - silky, soft and fresh hair!

L - R: before and after

Cake Satin Sugar Refreshing Powder is said to have a scent of baked lemon sugar but to me it mostly smells slightly sweet and a bit cinnamon-y, but the scent does not stay in the hair and it's not overpowering.

I don't think I will use this on my body because it just performs so well on my hair, and for the small quantity of product you get for the price, I prefer to save it. From the reviews I have read, the tinted powder helps it to blend seamlessly into the skin, with tones to match from the lightest to darkest complexions.

I think Peach quite enjoys the smell too!

Cake Beauty Satin Sugar Hair & Body Refreshing Powder For Darker Hues is available at EdenFantasys for $17.99 for 1.7oz.
