Anastasia Lash Genius

Ladies, I have a confession to make - the only tube of waterproof mascara that I ever had in my life must be over 10 years old and I still have it somewehere in my stash! Awful, I know, but you know what? I think I hated it so much that I must have used it only one time and then forgot about it.

I just don't see the point of waterproof mascaras - I'm not the kind of girl who wear makeup to the beach, and I have never experienced a mascara meltdown in the rain either. On top of that, I just hate the formula of those mascaras - they always clumped my lashes together and they were a mess to remove, even with a makeup remover specially formulated for waterproof mascaras.

When I was sent Anastasia Lash Genius ($21.00), which is a clear waterproof topcoat, I must way I was quite sceptical at first as I had never heard o such product before. Would it clump my lashes together? Would it be a mess to remove? And, most importantly, would it work? I must say I was happily surprised by this product!

I like the brush as it perfectly coats almost all of my lashes in only one swipe. I like to apply two coats just to be sure, and maybe a bit on the top part of my lashes too, just to be sure.

The formula of the topcoat is thick without being stiff or sticky and it goes on easily without leaving my lashes  clumped together or weighting them down - my lashes are always left touchably soft. I like how it dries really quickly too!

I tested Anastasia Lash Genius while swimming at the beach and also under the shower. If I only blink to get the water out of my eyes, Lash Genius stays put perfectly, but if I rub and insist on the lashes, it will start to show signs of fatigue - I noticed some of my lashes stick together, but then again, nothing dramatic!

It is advised to remove Lash Genius with a waterproof eye makeup remover, which I did not do - when I'm lazy, I like to remove my mascara directly in the shower, by gently touching my lashes and rubbing them until I can sense the mascara loosen and come off. With Lash Genius, this took me a little longer, but it finally gave up. Just to be sure, I finishes it off with a normal eye makeup and tadaah! Nothing was left!

I think Anastasia Lash Genius is exactly that - genius! I don't know if it's just me but I never knew such product existed, and I don't know why I never thought about that either. If, like me, you dread waterproof mascaras, I would recommend this product 100%!

  1. Sounds like a great product! I used to use waterproof mascaras about maybe 10 years ago, but I wasn´t very fond of them! Btw Oriflame has similar product. I don´t know if its any good, because I haven´t tired it.

  3. Waterproof mascara is a must if you suffer from watery eyes like me. It is a bit of a bitch to remove but I prefer that over panda eyes xx

  6. Looks like a lovely product to try. I do wear waterproof most of the time. I've had mascara run before. It's awful.

  7. Waterproof mascaras always seem to make me lose lashes by the clump. This sounds pretty interesting, though :)
