Montagne Jeunesse White Chocolate Face Masque

Melted white chocolate, cocoa butter and cream... yum! "Please don't be tempted to eat" is easier said than done in the case of these yummy Montagne Jeunesse face masques! I must admit I'm not really sure what white chocolate is supposed to smell, but I guess Montagne Jeunesse did quite well with this masque because I just wanted to taste it! It's not sickly sweet, I would say it smells more like sweet and creamy cocoa butter, if it makes sense?

The texture is amazingly rich and thick, which I absolutely love in a face masque! Is there something more annoying than trying to slather your face with a product that is so liquidy and runny that it won't stay on your face and drip everywhere? Because it's so thick, you definitely do not need to use a lot of product at once, so this little sachet will last you a long time. The only negative things about Montagne Jeunesse masques packaging is that it's messy and not resealable, so I like to pour the leftover product in a little pot so it doesn't dry up and it's easier to scoop with your fingers.

It is advised to apply evenly over face and neck with fingertips and then let sit for 10-15 minutes, or until dry. Personally, I don't really care for this as you will know when it's time to rinse off the masque because it dries up in a very stiff and clay-like way and it will crack if you move too much and you will be left with powder everywhere. It feels nice to wash off, my skin feels refreshed and tightened, but maybe a little be too tightened.

I have dry skin and it's never good to use a product that leaves my face feeling squeaky clean, which happened with this mask. Unfortunately, my skin did not really felt moisturized and certainly not "smooth as the softest cream" after use, but it really was deep cleansed, which is good once in a while I guess, but I had to rush to slather on my richest night cream after use. I would use it again but no more than once a week for sure.

All Montagne Jeunesse products are Vegetarian Society approved, not tested on animals and cruelty-free (BUAV Approved). Canadian residents can get them at Farleyco.ca for $1.99 or at selected drugstores.

  11. Ugh, I hate when a mask tightens too much. I may have to keep this in mind though for my super oily skin.

    Thanks for the review. :]

Hey good idea by putting it in a little container! I always put it in a ziplock bag hoping it doesn't dry out but eventually it does.
