LUSH Space Girl - Stellar Blackurrant-y Bath Time Invader

With blasts of sparkles and refreshing grapefruit oil, Space Girl is a Bath Bomb of astronomical proportions. You’ll be ready to explore the cosmos (bath time) in a trail of purple stardust. We put real popping candies into each one to add some pop to our signature fizz. Shaped like Saturn, the energizing scent of blackcurrant candies will make you hungry for your own space adventures as you soak away in the tub. It’s really out of this world.
What makes you buy a LUSH product? The smell, of course, and this one really smells amazing in the bag, like sweet and fruity candie - but not so in the bath. In fact, I could barely smell anything, which is always incredibly disappointing as it happens way too often to me with LUSH products.

At first sight, I thought Space Girl looked really big for the price ($4.95) compared to other bath bombs, and I appreciated the fact that it fizzed slowly while turning and swishing around in the bath, which is always entertaining. I thought it was cool that it left behind a white blanket of moisturizing foam even though it vanished quite quickly, but what disappointed me the most is that while Space Girl fizzed away, it seemed to turn the water a beautifully bright purple, but when the fizzing stopped, I was left with a slight hint of lavender in the bath water.

As for the little red glitters, there was not tons on the bath bomb I picked to begin it, but they looked like blood drops in the bath, which was... interesting, to say the least. If I had not read Space Girl's description before using it, I would not have known that there was supposed to be some popping candies in here, because I absolutely did not notice any popping sounds or anything.

Despite being infused with grapefruit oil, Space Girl did not left my skin moisturized or toned, but I must say I was not expecting it to really do something. Not to sound pessimist, but the more products I try, the more I'm getting disappointed by LUSH...

Space Girl Bath Bomb is available at LUSH for $4.95.

  2. I have to admit, I've been disappointed by Lush a lot, recently, so I definitely see where you're coming from; Space Girl has always been one of the ones that appeals to me most, so your review was really helpful! xx

  5. overall, I don't find bath bombs to be THAT moisturizing. You should try pairing it with a bath melt if that is what you're looking for. I think they're more for aromatherapy. You know I am a huge LUSH lover, and I am doing a giveaway at my blog with tons of LUSH right now so check it out! there's a bubble bar, which are my favourite LUSH bathtime treats.

  6. @OPI Addict : Well I tend to be very picky with LUSH products because I think they are quite overrated but most people seem to be happy with them! Hope you'll like it better than me!

@Francesca.: That sucks but I'm glad I'm not the only one. At some point I started to think I was overly picky!

@Canadian Beauty : I realize that but what makes me a big mad is when they claim that they are moisturizing when they are not. I'm not sure I will be repurchase more LUSH bath bombs when I will have used up mine.

  7. Aww, I'm sorry you were disappointed with this bath bomb! I enjoy bath bombs, but I think they're not really worth the money... I'll buy one every once in awhile as a special treat, but more often than not even though I enjoy them, I don't think they're worth what I paid for them. I actually prefer bath oils and bath salts!
