BH Cosmetics makeup palettes offer the most brilliantly pigmented colors available on the market. We use only the highest quality ingredients and we guarantee you will enjoy using our full line of makeup palettes!
I have never tried anything from BH Cosmetics for some reasons, so of course I had to jump on this opportunity (not to mention that it has also been brought to my attention that I rarely post about makeup products on my blog...) I have previously featured their 88 Color Cool Matte Palette on my blog as a guest review from Taygan and because she seems to have enjoyed it quite a bit, I was excited to try some of their other products.
Disclaimer: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Let me be honest from the start - I can't use liquid eyeliners for the life of me! I think the reason why I don't practice enough with these is because I don't like how they look on me - so unnatural and not pretty. I have always preferred the softer look of eyeshadows or even pencil liner because they allow me to blend and smudge the products, which is not possible with a liquid liner, of course, so I didn't really know where to start with BH Liquid Eyeliner ($3.57).
I must admit it was fun playing with this eyeliner as it really is super precise thanks to its stiff applicator. It is extremely pigmented in one stroke - BH Liquid Eyeliner comes in only one shade which doesn't even has a name, but it's black - and it dries amazingly fast, which is always appreciated because it prevents you from smudging the liner while doing the rest of your makeup.
The day when I really wanted to put this liner's long-lasting and smear-proof claims to the test, I put it on first thing in the morning, I went for a 45-minutes brisk walk (hey, someone is trying to get in shape here!) and I spent the rest of the day outside in the sun by a delightfuly warm 26°C and guess what? Not a single smudge! I'm still not sold on liquid eyeliner but seriously, this one is amazing for the price!
As I previously stated above, when I use eyeliner, I like to be able to smudge or blend it for a more natural look - I'm not a fan of a super straight and harsh line. Although BH Waterproof Eyeliners ($2.77) are said to be smudgeable and blendable, I found they were quite hard to work with.
Not matter what I used to blend them on my lid, be it my finger or any type of brush, the result was always patchy and not pretty. I always had to keep on layering more product to hide the uneveness and then try to smudge it again, which is a complete waste of time - and product.
I was sent the shades Midnight (deep dark blue) and Frost (shimmery silver) and I have found that the two are very different in term of formula - while Midnight is pigmented, deliciously creamy and goes on super smoothly, Frost is harder to work with because of the chunky glitters in it. It also goes on much sheerer than Midnight.
I usually tend to shy away from waterproof makeup products because some are impossibly hard to remove, but I didn't have this problem with HB Waterproof Eyeliners. They do are really waterproof - while swatched on my arms, I kept on rubbing them and they won't budge until after a good 30 seconds, but they are surprisingly easy to remove with normal makeup remover.
I have kept the best for last - before starting to write a beauty blog about three years ago, I never thought I would say that I prefer lipsticks over lipglosses, but yes, I was actually surprised with BH Lip Gloss ($3.57). I was sent the shades Office Queen (nude pink/beige with gold shimmers) and Wine & Dine (deep red) and both are really great - they are actually better than most lipglosses I have previously tried.

Let's start with the packaging - I think it looks very sleek with the black cap, and I like the way the name of the shade is printed on the tube, instead of on a peel-off sticker, which is so annoying! As for the smell and taste - nothing, and I really mean nothing, which is so rare. I personally prefer when my products smell and taste something but I guess it's great to prevent you from eating your lipgloss =P
BH Lip Glosses are highly pigmented and easily buildable, they are creamy and incredibly shiny, and the best part? They are non-sticky! They also feel really light on the lips and I even forget I'm wearing them sometimes! I also like their brush applicator which makes it very easy to shape the lips and control the desired amount of product you apply.

the glosses are simply wow
ReplyDeleteBoth glosses look really lovely though I'd choose the nude one over the darker shade. :)
ReplyDeleteLes gloss sont très jolis! J'aimerais bien avoir des lèvres pulpeuses comme les tiennes! Petite chanceuse va! hihi :)
ReplyDeleteThe glosses are pretty!, I have yet to try the eyeshadow palettes, heard lots of great things!
ReplyDeleteAmazing glosses, Gaby! ♥ office queen!!
ReplyDeletexo,

LOVE the glosses! I haven't tried Bh cosmetics yet but I am sure I will at some point. I have heard a lot of good things!
ReplyDeleteOh liking the look of the waterproof eyeliners and the glosses are nice too! xoxo
ReplyDeleteJ'aime la couleurs des gloss!
ReplyDeleteHi Gaby! That's really neat that you got to try out some BH cosmetics :) I haven't seen them in stores but the black eyeliner swatch looks very intense and the I like the sharp felt tip of the liquid liner. I know what you mean about liquid liner looking very harsh of a line - it's great for covering up glue if you're using false lashes or if you can pull off a simple nude eye with winged liner...that's what I use liquid liner for.
ReplyDeleteThose pencils look great but too bad they don't smudge a whole lot. It looks like the type of pencils that sharpen very smoothly (like the wood doesn't chip off in little bits which I hate).
Great review! x
great finds
ReplyDeleteThose lip glosses are gorgeous! I like the look of liquid eyeliner when done well, but I am so bad at applying it!
ReplyDeleteI love that liner. It's so black and I like how it doesn't smudge since that's usually the issue I have with liners
ReplyDeleteXo
Nice big eyeliner pencils, I like that. Reasonable prices too.
ReplyDeleteThose lipglosses look really great. I can't believe I haven't tried anything from bh cosmetics yet! Thanks for the review, you're always so thorough and detailed and it really helps!
ReplyDeleteDarling, the felt tip eyeliner looks superb!! you should do a cat eye look with it :D
ReplyDelete@donnarence : I know right? I wasn't expecting such a nice quality for this price!
ReplyDelete@Pammy : Me too, it's nice for an everyday look (:
@Nicolka Mikaze : Aww arrête! Moi j'aimerais bien avoir tes superbes cheveux qui peuvent changer de couleur comme il t'en dit =P
@Nicole : I would say the eyeshadow palettes are hit and miss because you get some highly and buttery shadows but some others are super dull and unpigmented x=
@Gauri : It's my favorite of the two (:
@ Miranda : I was actually surprised at the quality of their products!
@ Karen Law : Hi Karen! Glad to see you're back, I wasn't able to access your blog for a while, it was for readers only?! I'm so useless with liquid eyeliner, I can't even draw a straight line! I'm a bit disappointed that the pencil eyelines won't smudge because I only wear smudged eyeliner z=
@Sarah: Exactly! I admire the ladies who can do it well but I suck at it too ahah!
@MaviDeniz : I was surprised at its pigmentation for the price!
@Sarah S. : I know, me too! Everything is super affordable yet of amazing qality. Awww thank you for your kind comment, I'm happy that you like the way I write my reviews (:
@ Kumiko Mae : I know, it's a real dream to use but I'm so useless when it comes to liquid eyeliner! ):

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the glosses of course! They are gorgeous! The packaging reminds me of the Tokidoki gloss I have!
