What are Perfect Petzzz?
These adorable pets offers a real pet ownership experience without the hassles and expense. Say goodbye to feedings and vet bills. Say hello to lots of love and cuddles.
Perfect Petzzz - the ultimate pet.

Each bundle includes:
  • New Soft Pet
  • Collar with Pet Tag
  • New Plush Pet Bed
  • Brush
  • Adoption Certificate
  • 'Did You Know' Card
  • 1 'D' Alkaline Battery
  • 100% Synthentic Fur
Packaging:

The dog comes in a cute cardboard box that you can use to carry or store it.

The animal is packed on top (of course!)

Plush pet bed

Brush (in the little white box glued on the cardboard), adoption certificate and 'Did You Know' card

Please note that the annoying sound you hear is caused by the "zoom" button of my camera

Pros:
  • realistic
  • unique and original
  • lifetime warranty
  • 1 'D' Alkaline battery included in the bundle

Cons:
  • smaller than it appears in the advertisments
  • you have to look closely to see that it's breathing
  • makes weird noise when it breathes
  • no ON/OFF switch (you have to get a screwdriver to remove the battery when you want to turn it off)
  • the head is not as soft as the rest of the body, and the whole dog could have been even more softer (the plush bed is much softer than the pet itself!)
  • moveable ears would have been interesting (why just the tail?)

What I think:

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review this product as I've been obsessed with it since the first time I saw it.

First of all, it is not stated clearly on the Perfect Petzzz website wether it's a toy or not, but I would not recommend this for little children. The pet is advertised as "huggable", but it's not that soft (the plush bed is much softer than the pet itself!), and it's not really interactive. I guess after the first few minutes of watching the animal breathing, the kids will be bored. I see this product more as a collectible.

However, I have to say that I've been a little disappointed by this pet. I thought the dog would be bigger - the size of a real golden retriever puppy - but it is so small! This is tricky as you don't get to see the size of the pet clearly in the advertisments. I was also a little disappointed because you can barely see the dog breathing. Don't get me wrong - it does breath, but you have to look closely to see that it's breathing.

Also, this is no big deal to me, but I was surprised to see that there was no ON/OFF switch! Instead of unscrewing the battery's cover everytime I want to turn the pet on or off, I just removed it completely. Another little thing that could be improved: make the ears moveable, just like the tail.

Oh and maybe it's just the pet I received that does that strange noise when it breathes... but it's definitely weird! I don't know how to explain it... it's a little like the noise of two plastic thing rubbing together O_O

But I must acknowledge that this pet is realistic, and the idea of a breathing animal is absolutely great. This dog cheered me up a little after my beloved Balou passed away. It is also great to have included a 1 'D' Alkaline battery the package, but the greatest thing of all: lifetime warranty!

Available pets:

  1. "Watch me breathe"

That alone freaks me out! I don't see the point of getting one(yes I have a real-life dog that can breathe lol) other than using it as an educating tool for toddlers.

  2. @AtelierGal: Well I lost my beloved Golden Retriever some times ago, and let me tell you that this "toy" does help me trough these hard times. You are lucky to have "a real-life dog that can breathe". It's not everyone who has that chance.

  4. Great review Gaby :)
The dog looks really real in the pictures! A golden retriever puppy is not really big at all so I'm surprised the dog isn't that size. The toy appears to look even bigger than the size of a golden retriever puppy- but I guess since they don't picture many adults beside the toy, it's hard to judge the size without a scale like that. So the only thing it does is it wags it's tail and breathes? Does it walk or run? I think it would be neat if it could move it's ears and bark too! But then perhaps the toy would be more than $40?
Yes I agree with you that it should have an on/off switch. That's really silly that something that simple wasn't thought of when they made this.
Hmmm and too bad the breathing noise sounds weird too!
I'm glad it has helped you a bit through the tough times without Balou.

  5. So adorable! What else does it do besides wagging its tail and breathing? You mentioned that it is pretty small, can you give us a measurement, like H x W: 25 cm x 40 cm?

  6. @..R May A..: Isn't it? ^^

@Blair: It does nothing besides breathing LOL. In my opinion, this is more of a collectible than a toy. I didn't measured it, but what I meant by pretty small is that in the advertisments, it seemed bigger (but maybe it's just me).

  11. Ohhhh so cuteeeee ;) J'ai regardé les photos de ton chien et il était vraiment magnifique, ton histoire m'a beaucoup touché et peiné pour toi car j'ai également un labrador retriever et je sais à quel point ils sont attachants ♥

  12. I had to put my beloved 10 year old chocolate lab Cooper down today because of cancer. I've owned her since she was an 8 week old pup. I am devastated and heartbroken. My daughter Diane stopped over a few minutes ago and had bought me a Perfect Petzzz chocolate lab puppy that looks just like my lab Cooper did as a baby. It brightened my day and has brought me some comfort. Granted I can't ever replace my Cooper but this breathing chocolate lab for some reason has taken the edge off of my grief over losing my beloved Cooper today. I love it and have named it Cooper too!
