One of a kind clump-free lash growth and conditioning mascara that instantly increases lash volume, definition and curl while promoting growth, length and thickness with continued use.
- Hydroplat specialized peptide combined with hydrolyzed keratin to stimulate keratin production along the lash line for new hair growth and repair damaged ones.
- Moroccan Argan Oil, vitamins, minerals and amino acids to nourish, fortify and add shine to your lashes.
- Luxurious polymer and nylon to add show-stopping volume and definition to your lashes, while natural waxes form an elastic veil that helps sculpt your lashes and add big time curl for a dramatic look.
- Unique hourglass shape mascara brush to lift and separate lashes for defined lashes, while delivering the perfect amount of mascara needed for optimal voluminous look.
I have never used a mascara designed to improve lash growth, and I was thrilled to be given this opportunity as I have super short, straight and invisible lashes.
When I removed the mascara from the box, I didn't know what to think of the packaging. It's a pretty sleek silver tube, but it also feels plain and simple, as there's no weight behind it. I don't know, for the price, I guess I was expecting a more luxurious packaging.
The weird shaped rubber brush reminds me a little of Rimmel Sexy Curves - which I absolutely hated and gave up after two tries - but it actually performs well. At first, I didn't like that it didn't grip the lashes because the bristles are so close together but I have found that it glides really well on the lashes and prevents clumps. Something that surprised me is how tight the tube is - when I pull the brush out, it comes out perfectly clean, without annoying excess of product.
However, I usually prefer a tappered brush because it makes it easier to reach tiny lashes in the inner corner of the eyes - with this big hourglass shaped brush, you have to be careful not to end up with mascara all over your lid and nose. I'm not sure if this could be useful or something, but look at how flexible the brush is!
I have yet to try a mascara that requires only one coat to make me happy. I usually do around 2 - 3 coats - or until it starts to clump. If I apply only one coat of the EnvyDerm mascara, the look is very natural but my lashes don't stand out enough in my opinion. It is recommended to apply one or more additional coats of the mascara within one minute, which I did, and I quite liked the results! I applied around three coats really easily and I only experienced minor clumping.
Something strange with this mascara is that it takes forever to dry - in fact, think it never completely dries. I have never experienced this before. Applying mascara is usually the first step in my makeup routine (weird, I know) and when I'm done with the rest of my face, it has usually fully dried. With the EnvyDerm mascara, I had to be very careful not to touch my lashes while doing the rest of my makeup because they stayed wet. The first times I used this mascara, I kept touching my lashes to check if the mascara was dry because I was scared it would smudge, but no matter how long I waited before touching them, my lashes seemed wet. Maybe it's due to the Moroccan Argan Oil... anyway, it's pretty annoying because the mascara will smudge very easily if you happen to touch your lashes by mistake.
However, the good thing is that, maybe due to its wetness, this mascara is easily removable simply with warm water.
Volume-wise, I have experienced better results with various mascaras such as Maybelline The Falsies and Covergirl LashBlast so I must say I'm not impressed. Yes the EnvyDerm mascara makes my lashes look fuller and very slightly longer, but it's certainly not worth $36 if it can so easily be beaten by drugstore mascaras.
I was incredibly disappointed to see that this mascara absolutely doesn't hold a curl well on my super straight lashes, even if I used an eyelash curler prior to application - I've been struggling to find a good curling mascara lately, and it looks like I will have to continue my quest. Again, many drugstore mascaras can easily hold a curl on my lashes.
EnvyDerm Lash Growth and Conditioning Volume Mascara is available in only one color and I don't even know how it's called as it's not written on the tube, the boxe or the website. It's black but it's not black enough for my liking and I have to apply around 3 coats to achieve the desired color intensity.
As for the growth and conditoning properties of this mascara, I'm not sure what to say. It's not claimed to be a growth serum so I wasn't expecting dramatic results, but I guess I will continue to use it and I'll see how it goes.
EnvyDerm Lash Growth and Conditioning Volume Mascara retails at $36.00 for 8ml/ 0.27 fl.oz and can be purchased on the EnvyDerm website. EnvyDerm products are never tested on animals!

ReplyDelete@TheMissTwist: I know right! Why is it always so hard? I've been pretty happy with quite some drugstore mascaras like Voluminous, The Falsies, Lash Blast, etc but I want one that does it all!
@Diane : I'm currently using Voluminous Carbon Black and I love it! As for Lancôme, their mascaras are way too expensive for my budget, but I agree, they do work amazing!
Yikes. I have a hard time paying a lot of money for mascara, especially when it's supposed to be replaced so often!
ReplyDeletei pretty much had the exact same experience. i really dont like this one lol
ReplyDeleteThe brush definitely reminds me of the sexy curves brush.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound amazing but I was very interested to hear your review when you mentioned this mascara, and wonder maybe you will notice some lash growth or maybe even help condition them in time?
Do you think this would work with a waterproof mascara on top? That is the only way my lashes stay curled =/
I'd still like to try it since I want to try every mascara ever lol but the price is so steep!
Wow this will definitely be a pass for me, thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog. You can also try soy yogurt, and I highly recommend reading one of these books: Skinny Bitch, The Kind Diet, or the China Study.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading one of this book it will surely turn you vegan. As for your mascara review, I like how dark and lovely it looks.
