It's that time of the month again ... hair color (no, not that time LOL)! I bought Garnier Nutrisse Intense Red Nourishing Colour Cream in Cabernet 460 as soon I saw it on my local Wal-Mart's shelves, and I was very excited to try it. Finally, a red hair dye designed for dark hair? How amazing is that?
Of course, I didn't read this until I came back home -_-
Before:
During the process:
Do I remind you of someone?
LOL. Just kidding, I love her!
Pretty scary, isn't it?
Pretty scary, isn't it?
The results:
Nothing different, you say?
Of course, as I suspected, the red only showed up on my blonde roots. You can't really see the red in the rest of my hair. It's no big deal, as I've had my share of bad experiences with red hair color, so of course I wasn't expecting much. No to mention that I should have read the informations on the box before buying it -_-
Aww! Well regardless - It's a lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteNext time maybe stick a Pre Lightener on your hair, which will make it go an orangey brown. Then pop on the dark red, and the results should be exactly what you were after :) xxx
@Brittany Love: Aww I don't think so, I have already attempted this, and it only made the red turns orange after 2 weeks -_- I'm not bleaching my hair ever again )=
ReplyDeleteHaha! Oh my! Yes, perhaps (in that case) you should not listen to a single word I say, if that was the outcome! You poor thing. Well I think your hair looks awesome now, and it will look amazing when the light catches it. Well done! xxx
ReplyDeleteMerci bcp pour ton adorable commentaire Gaby! Pour ce qui est de ton post je le trouve très chouette. Jolie coloration :)
ReplyDeleteBisous, à très vite.
i have had the exact same issue i brought a dye that said it lightens while it colours and did it, did it heck! but its liveable so i dont mind i just wanted a brightish colour without having to bleach my hair
ReplyDelete@Brittany Love: Yes, at least it looks good when the light catches it, but other than that, it's really hard to see the red.
ReplyDelete@Elisabeth-Modèle : Merci!
@charmed-chick: Yes, as you said, it's liveable, so I don't really mind. I'm just a little disappointed, but it was my fault, I just had to read the box more carefully!
ReplyDeleteAh yeah thats happened to me before! hehe
ReplyDeleteoh nos! I hate when that happens.... Same thing happen to me before, Dyed my hair blue black and wanted to be red and didn't read the instructions!! Grrr..... The red dye looks reall scary though!
ReplyDelete@Barttart : Yeah well, at leats I'm not the only one xD
ReplyDelete@Dolce♥Bunny : Well, I guess it's liveable for one month LOL.
Wow, it looks like the red hair colour stuck to the skin on your skull/head and roots....yeah, I guess it sucks but it's a good thing that you take it easy and couldn't care less and also didn't expect much anyways.
ReplyDeleteI don't really get it though. Garnier doesn't want us to buy this product if we coloured our hair dark previously? So this product is only good for people with naturally dark brown-black hair who haven't coloured their hair before? Because I have naturally very dark hair and I colour my hair dark brown once in a while...so this wouldn't be for me either? Strange....
You completed some good points there. I did a search on the theme and found the majority of persons will have the same opinion with your blog.
ReplyDeleteSounds good, I like to read your blog, just added to my favorites ;)
ReplyDelete:( I bought the same colour as well. I'm Asian, so my hair is already black... ughhhh. I ended the same way as you... black hair and red scalp. The product just doesn't seem to work!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous : So you are saying this doesn't even work on natural black hair and that's what it was designed for?! That makes it an even crappier product! I'm sorry it didn't work for you either ):
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel i used to have black hair also, but i bought Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Ultra Intense Red for Darker Hair Permanent Color, Light Intense Auburn R3 at Walmart and it was $6.99 and ai use 2 bottles of this stuff and its amazing my hair color lats for like 2 months and its wonderful this is a great product I highly recommend it :)
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: Oh yes, I have heard about this product! Glad it worked so well for you, I'm not using Garnier anymore since I went cruelty-free though.
