At the beginning of June, I offered you the opportunity to get some of your beauty questions answered by the instructors from Hair Design Institute and now it's the time to unveil the answers!
Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty :
Q: Hey, I'm interested in having my hair ombre'd and it'd be great to know if the experts have any advice about it (anything to consider/ research before I go to the salon). My hair is black, never dyed before. Thanks
A: I LOVE LOVE LOVE This! This is an amazing, try natural easy to maintain highlight! Just make sure color’s complement each other!
Deanna :
Q: How do I get my legs looking their best? like say if you get razor burn bumps, irritation bumps or ingrown hairs from wearing pants alot as well as those dark marks after the bumps have gone? Because every time I shave my legs their okay for about 2 days then all hell breaks loose, and I get irritated bumps, ingrown hairs, rashy razor burn areas. I have to let my hair grown for about a week to help the healing it gets so annoying....Any suggestions?
A: Make sure you have a new, clean, sharp razor! Exfoliate once a week, aloe vera and lotion with no oils! Oil cloggs our pores!
Tracy D :
Q: If they could chose their dream shampoo, conditioner, hair mask or deep conditioner, serum and hair spray..what would they be?
A: Products that work for all climates!
Cerina :
Q: Alright, my question is: do women who dye their hair really lose it faster as they get older than those with virgin hair?
A: No they don’t, hair goes through 3 cycles, growing, resting, and shedding stages. Hair loss is due to many factors, nutrition, diet, heredity, or medication!
Ahleessa :
Q: I've always wondered how do I get rid of wrinkly hair? I have straight but they're wrinkly if that makes sense... lol~ :X-
A: What do you mean by wrinkly? Damaged or wavy? Silk pillow cases help with damaged hair, and making sure your hair is dry before going to bed!
Karen Law :
Q: That's interesting! I have a nail question: how can you get rid of nail ridges in your natural nail surface. I know there are ridge fillers in base coats particularly but that's only good if you're painting your nails and want a smooth finish. Is there any way to get rid of those ridges permanently and prevent them from coming back? Thank you in advance!
A: You cant get rid of ridges permanently, you can buff though! Ridges can be caused by diet, trauma, etc.
The responses to these beauty questions were given by the instructors at a hair stylist school and a NYC cosmetology school that have locations throughout New York and Florida.
Hey thanks so much!
