Bargains from Jean Coutu + hair lust (Taylor Momsen) + Jessica Biel + giveaways

I went to Jean Coutu today to grab my prescription and, while I was there, I thought that maybe the new TRESemmé dry shampoo that Recessionista reviewed here would be available... and to my surprise, IT WAS THERE!!!

I know, I always say that I never buy products at full price, but I absolutely had to get my hands on that shampoo... and it was only like 6$! I can't wait to review it ^^

While waiting for my prescription, I quickly flipped through the drugstore's weekly flyer and came accross this:

The deodorant looked so yummy... and for 2,50$ each, I had to get... not one, but two! At least, I really needed deodorant because the one I'm currently using is almost finished.

So here are my bargains:

TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo for oily/straight to normal hair

Dove Ultimate Go Fresh Burst nectarine & white ginger scent

Dove Ultimate Go Fresh Energizing grapefruit & lemongrass scent

Onto my hair lust: OK, I have to admit it: I'm so obsessed with Gossip Girl. Even more with Taylor Momsen's hair:

I've been wanting bangs (or fringe, I don't know or care about the difference) for some times now, because I hate my big forehead and my long face. I'd like to hide those a bit. I figured out that a dissheveld bang that don't need much care would do the job perfectly, but I do have one concern however: how do you apply your face cream without getting your bang all sticky or greasy? Do you clip it up on your head while the cream penetrates? And does it because dirty more quickly because of the constant contact with your face?
I really need some advices. Thanks!

Did you know that she played the little girl in How The Grinch Stole Christmas? I didn't until yesterday LOL.

I also wanted to share a little something that I noticed in a magzine (I think it was in Allure):

Don't you notice anything strange in this picture? Or is it just me?

First of all, I couldn't recognize her. It's actually Jessica Biel, but I don't know, something looks wrong, and I think it's her eye makeup:

I think her eyes look swollen and puffy, like if someone just punched her! Maybe it's because the makeup is too heavy... don't you think so?

Anyway, I had to share this with you. Now I can get it off my mind (=

  1. hi Gaby!

i just recently known about dry shampoO! and they are hard to find where i live. Please do a review when you get the chance, i'm anticipating what you think of it!!

BTW. your question about cream and bangs. I usually clip my bangs back when i'm a home and doing make up..etc. I don't like it in my face. My face cream usually dried up instantly, so the hair and cream contact thing doesn't really bother me :D. Hope that helps.

P.S THanks for visiting my blog and following!

  3. I've never tried dry shampoo before, is it any good?
I think Jessica Biel had a terrible nose job in that picture and her eye make-up does look a bit strange lol

  7. I love her hair too! I saw in an interview that she googled Joan Jett hair to get her cut like that.

Fringe is cute! The only problem some people have is your skin is more prone to breakouts because the hair constantly touches your face.

I love Dove deodorant! haha I want that pretty one from the flyer :(

  11. Thanks so much for the shout-out, honey! I am really crossing my fingers that you have MUCH better luck than I did with that one. Can't wait to see your review!

About the bangs thing--I've had bangs my entire life and I also have oily hair and oily skin. So yes, it doesn't help my bangs to have them resting on my forehead all day, but I guess it's just something I've gotten used to. I do pull my hair back when I apply my moisturizer and I let it absorb into my skin before I put my bangs down, but for me, it's a just a fact of life that if I try to skip a day of shampooing, I KNOW my bangs are going to get greasy (which is why I love dry shampoos!).

Oh, and I totally agree that Jessica Biel looks FUNKY in those pics. If they're trying to sell those eyeshadows, they really don't make them alluring by having that pic on the displays! lol. :)

  13. OMG She was Cindy in Grinch? WTF! I didn't know!!!!
Poor J Biel! She got fucked up in that ad! So ugly...no wonder I never recognized her! XD

About the bangs....I lived most of my life without them..they are a pain in the butt to maintain, and keep them in shape (I still think so though)...and I also have huge forehead LOL
As or myself, I love how it warms during winter, but in summer it's horrible....then I do keep it out of my face! Clipped or whatever, just don't go near my forehead! HAHA
Surprisingly it doesn't make my skin more dirty nor brakes me out! However, during the summer heat, if I'm lazy and it hangs to my face, I do break out....maybe because of the heat-sweat-dirt mixture >.<
And creams and such skin care is indeed tricky...I always clip/pull my hair back and wait until the product sinks in, or else it does stick to it and your hair might become greasy sooner!
    Hope I could help! ^.^

  14. I need to look for that dry shampoo.. I'm not sure if it's out here. The one that I have, I bought from Sephora and that was a bit pricey..

As for bangs, I just started recently & it really does change up the face. I haven't had any problems w/ breakouts & all you have to do is clip it up when you're doing makeup. I guess it can get bothersome when I wash my face and stuff because I hate it when some of the fringes fall off my clip & get all wet. haha
